Rena DiBetta Harper, 90, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away April 25, 2013, at Worthington Nursing Facility.
She was born Sept. 16, 1922 in Boomer, W.Va., a daughter of the late Nick and Anna (Delprincipe) DiBetta who were Italian immigrants from Udine and Aquila, Italy.
Rena was retired from the Internal Revenue Service of Parkersburg, W.Va. as a secretary for 38 years. She loved gardening, birds, her family and church. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Vienna, where she was a member of the choir and the ladies group.
She is survived by two sons, Robert “Nick” Harper (Debbie) of Vienna and John J. Harper (Terri), of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Jason Harper (Cam and daughter, Reeslyn) of Deep Creek, Md. and Matthew Harper (Hildara) of Austin, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Mariana, Daniel, and Ana Sofia Harper of Austin, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Harper; her son, Andrew Harper; and her brothers and sisters, Virgil DiBetta, Patrick Harper (Lois), Geno Harper (Beulah), Katherine Davis (Ken), Alda and Assunta DiBetta, and Mary Bartoloni (Neal).
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Vienna with Father John Gallager officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna.
