Deanna Sue Young, 64, of Logan, formerly of Belpre, died April 17, 2013, at The Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus.
Born July 22, 1948 in Greenfield, she was the daughter of the late Charles Monroe Young and Helen Marie Gibson Young.
She was a graduate of The Plains High School and Hocking College. She retired after 30 years of service from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, in Athens, as a customer service representative. She attended Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Center in Logan, where she enjoyed Bingo.
Deanna is survived by a daughter, Helaina (Tony) Rittenhouse of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a son, Charles “Monty” (Valerie) Young of Molino, Fla.; five grandchildren, Jamie, Lindsey, Ashley, Daffney and Katie and a great grandchild, Jaden; three sisters, Sharon Young of Virginia, Linda (Bob) Schlaghter of Georgia and Carol (Pat) Smith of Pickerington; also surviving are three close friends, Jennifer, Judy and Connie.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Jamie Ohler.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday 1 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. Steve Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in The Plains (Hocking) Cemetery.
