Carole Lewis Craig

Carole Lewis Craig, 76, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at Eagle Pointe.

She was born March 15, 1937, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Garland A. and Hazel E. Houck Lewis. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, a graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky., and received her masters degree from The Ohio State University. She was retired from the Belpre City Schools after 33 years as a music and first grade teacher. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Belpre, where she was organist and choir director. She enjoyed genealogy and had researched both sides of her family. She loved playing and listening to music and going to concerts. She enjoyed all sports, especially Ohio State University sports. She loved being with her family, especially her two sons.

She is survived by her sons, Alan and Alex Craig, both of Belpre; two sisters, Margaret Yarrington of Kettering, Ohio, and Rebecca Lister (Skip) of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister-in-law, Vicky Lewis of Parkersburg; two nephews; one niece; a very special friend, Dave Warfield of Belpre; and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Lewis.

There will be a Celebration of Life service 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Belpre, with Rev. David Hubbard officiating. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
