Carl W. ‘Bill’ Yarnell Sr., 86, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away April 8, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1926, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son to the late Clyde and Ida Virginia Yarnell. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 565.
He is survived by his son, Carl W. ‘Billy’ Yarnell Jr. and his wife Melanie of Williamstown; two grandchildren, Brian Yarnell and his wife Jill of Marietta, Ohio, and Amy Keiser and her husband Nick of Parkersburg; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Yarnell and his wife Bernadine of Parkersburg; and one sister, Betty Jackson of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Shears Yarnell; and one brother, Clyde Yarnell.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Eric Nielson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
