Virginia ‘Isabelle’ Moore
Virginia “Isabelle” Moore, 90, of Parkersburg, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Ohio Valley Health Care, surrounded by her family.
She was born July 1, 1922, in Finch, W.Va., to the late Bertis and Evelyn (McBride) Gibson. Isabelle was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and former member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church, where she served as Deaconess and Heavenly Helper. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, playing cards, spending time with friends and family and sharing God’s love. She made the world a better place with her giving nature, kindness and open heart. Her love and generosity were contagious. She lived a simple life and always put God first. She was admired, loved and respected by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Family meant everything to Isabelle. She was one of God’s angels living here on earth and now she is an angel living in God’s house forevermore.
She is survived by four daughters, Susan Gardner (Ron) of Parkersburg, Carol Morris (Phil) of Vienna, Nancy Sprout (Mike) of Parkersburg, and Linda King (Clif) of Spokane, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Brad Gardner, Stacy Gardner, Jared Morris, Whitney Morris, Sarah Sprout, Jimmy King and Christa Holzer; six great-grandchildren, Bradyn Morris, Bailey Morris, Kaydn Shingary, KayLynn King Holzer, Madison Holzer and Ava Isabelle Holzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Madison Moore; two brothers, Boyd Gibson and Charles B. Gibson; and one sister, Vivian Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Isabelle’s memory.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Tom Stevens and Pastor Jim Mike Ward officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.
