Phyllis Ann Collins, 85, of Parkersburg, passed away March 11, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 9, 1927, at Seymour, Ind., a daughter of the late Samuel F. and Bernice White Hodapp. Phyllis was a graduate of Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, was a member of the Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Queen Esther Chapter #11 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Chapter Z PEO of West Virginia, the Friends of Blennerhassett, and the Parkersburg Art Center.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip R. (Betsy) Collins of Staunton, Va., and Rodney A. (Lisa) Collins of Sterling, Va.; four grandchildren, Andrew (Holly) Collins, Craig Collins, Erica Collins and Brian Collins; two great-grandchildren, Oliver Phillip Collins and Patrick Benjamin Collins; and a sister, Mary Jane Gertsch of Greenville, S.C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clemith Collins, in 1991.
The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg, with Rev. Paul Russell officiating, and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, and 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.
