Carolyn (Keeper) Bias-Mittan

Carolyn (Keeper) Bias-Mittan, 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at her home in Highspire.

Born Feb. 11, 1934, in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Raymond and Sylvia (Bond) Keeper. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, and retired from Tive, Hetrick & Pierce Law Firm in Harrisburg, Pa. She was a member of the former Market Street Baptist Church, where her late husband was pastor. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Leonard Bias, and Lewis Walters; and her brother, Charles R. Keeper. Surviving is her husband, Reed Mittan; two sons, Lynn R. and his wife Diane Bias of Harrisburg, Pa., and G. David Bias and his wife Debra Bias of Harrisburg, Pa.; one step-son, Olen and his wife Jeanette of Pottstown, Pa.; and her sister, Frances Gainer of Parkersburg, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-greatgrandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, March 2, at First Alliance Church in Harrisburg, Pa., with the Rev. John Spoeckl officiating. Burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends were received 9:30-11 a.m. at the church at the time of the memorial service.
