R. ‘Darel’ Jameson

R. ‘Darel’ Jameson, 77, of Washington, W.Va., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born in Pike, W.Va., a son of the late Ira ‘Paul’ and Mildred Rae (Hendrickson) Jameson. He was a 1954 graduate of Pennsboro High School and attended West Virginia University and Glenville College. He retired after 35 years from E.I. DuPont. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the 101st Airborne. He was a Paratrooper and served in Germany for two years. He was a long time member of Parkersburg Country Club, and was an avid golfer. He played in the West Virginia Seniors Tournaments. He was a member of Washington United Methodist Church, where he had served as a Trustee.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Jameson; son, Brent Craig Jameson (Karen) of Washington, W.Va.; two sisters, Ruth ‘Estalee’ Cunningham of Pine Bluff, N.C. and Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Nichols (John) of Murphytown, W.Va.; and two brothers, Roy M. Jameson (Linda) of Veto Lake, Ohio and Melvin ‘Mel’ Jameson (Sheryll) of Ellenboro, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wilda Jackson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. David Calvert officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with military honors by The WV Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
