Lucille Jones, 97, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2013. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones; four sisters, Mildred Furr, Eva Black, Pauline Jones and Drusilla Boggs; and a grandson, Matthew Jones.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Jones of Parkersburg and Jack Jones (Charlotte) of Huntington; one grandson, Scott Jones of Huntington; five great-grandchildren, Shandell Jones of Florida, Kandyce and Skylar Jones of Huntington and Sammi and Whitney Stacy of Charleston; nephew, Robert R. Jones (Judy); nieces, LuAnn Cunningham (Phil) and Judy Marks; along with several other nieces and nephews.
She retired from Cox’s Department Store, a job she dearly loved. The other joy of her life, besides her family, was her church. Most of her church life was with Baptist Gospel Temple, in later years it was Calvary Temple and Calvary Memorial with her good friend, May Rile. In her later years she also enjoyed her daily chats with her special friend and neighbor, Eric Gumm (60 years her junior). She had several other special friends, Nellie, Janet, Kathy, Ruth, Colleen, May, Maureen, Jerry, Ella May and Judy. There were also several extended family members she was very fond of Greg Sheppard, Robin Malloy and Angela Thomas.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with pastor and friend Don Cunningham officiating assisted by his wife Karen and son Dale. A time of gathering will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens.
