Robert C. Vance
Robert Cleo Vance, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Dec. 31, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 3, 1938, at Mt. Vernon, Ohio, a son of the late Chester and Louise Gabbert Vance.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a laborer with Union Local 1085. He loved CB’s and his handle was “Hambone”. He also enjoyed fishing and his dog “Bango”.
He is survived by his wife, Leona F. Myers Vance; three daughters, Katherine Lamb of Gassaway, W.Va., Debra Vance and Diane (Gene) Ellison, both of Parkersburg; three sons, Robert B. (Sarah) Vance, Chris (April) Vance and Terry (Crystal) Vance, all of Parkersburg; one sister, Betty Kimble of Belpre, Ohio; two brothers, Ronnie Vance of Ohio and James “Sonny” Vance of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy McIntyre; and one brother, Kenny Vance.
Funeral service will be held 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Merrill Chapel Cemetery in Wirt County. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
