Donald Hupp

Donald Bruce Hupp, 85, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Jan. 24, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born March 25, 1927, in Ravenswood, W.Va., a son of the late Clifford L. and Nelle Roush Hupp. Bruce was a graduate of Ravenswood High School, and upon graduation joined the Navy. He served in World War II on the U.S.S Arkansas, and was deployed to the Bikini Islands during nuclear testing there. After his naval services, he attended WV Tech at Montgomery, W.Va., and received a degree in Business Finance. He had been employed by Mortgage Insurance Co. in Maryland. After retirement, he and his wife, Evelyn, moved to Hilton Head Island, S.C., and more recently returned to Parkersburg to be near family and friends. He was an avid golfer and hunter, and enjoyed spending time at his home place. He was Protestant by faith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyn Kelly Hupp; two sisters, Eva Wilson of Parkersburg and Nancy Moore of Vienna, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements, and a memorial service is planned for the near future. Cremation interment will be at the National Cemetery in Grafton, W.Va.
