ATHENS — Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Feb. 8.

Feb. 6

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle stolen in the Coolville area. The complainant reported that his 1993 Ford F-150 was stolen from the Coolville boat ramp sometime during the night. The complainant found his vehicle parked in a wooded area off Gantsville Road in Washington County. The Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating this case.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to North Plains Road on a report of a stolen van. Deputies arrived on scene and a report was taken. The vehicle is described as a 1997 Ford E-250 black in color with a faded McKenszie’s decal on the front, faded Powell’s decal on the side, silver wheels and sags in the right rear due to a broken leaf spring. If anyone has information regarding this vehicle theft or sees the van contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Selby Road regarding mailboxes that were damaged by a delivery truck in the area.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of theft from Elm Rock Road. Deputies spoke with a complainant who advised that a female and her husband are suspected in removing a cordless drill and miscellaneous tools. The complainant did not observe the theft, but reported the items are missing. This case is under investigation.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Albany for a report of a dispute. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the complainant who stated that in the course of a custody exchange with an ex, a confrontation occurred, and one party was physical. The complainant was advised to reach the victim advocate at the Sheriff’s Office. This case is under investigation.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report by phone regarding telephone harassment. The caller advised someone called him from an unknown number. The caller advised he was with the Athens Police Department. The complainant felt the call was a scam and wanted to report it to authorities. Deputies followed up with the number and spoke with a highly intoxicated male who advised he was with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office. It was confirmed the original call was a scam.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Monserat Ridge Road for a report of a vicious dog complaint. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with a complainant who stated that her cat was outside, when a neighbor’s dog attacked it. Deputies took photographs of the cat’s injuries and also made contact with the owners of the reported dogs. Deputies photographed the dogs and will refer this case for follow up.

Feb. 7

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Happy Hollow Road in Nelsonville for a report of an active neighbor dispute over a fence. Deputies reviewed the property line on the auditor’s website and suggested options for the landowners to alleviate further issues.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Main Street in Chauncey for a report of an unknown bag on the complainant’s property. Deputies spoke with the complainant and the OSHP that was handling the situation.
