ATHENS COUNTY — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Nov. 30:

Nov. 29

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Front Street in reference to a complaint of a suspicious person in a residential area. The area was thoroughly patrolled, but there was negative contact with anyone matching suspect description.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Athens Transmissions located on Hebbardsville Road for an activated alarm. Upon arriving on scene, the business was found to be secure.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Toledo Street in reference to an activated residential alarm. Upon arriving on scene, deputies found the front door to the residence open. Deputies then cleared the residence and secured the door.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was flagged down on Route 33 by a motorist who recovered a small safe. The safe was found on Route 33 in the middle of the road. Deputies took possession of the safe.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Nurad Road for an active hold up alarm. Deputies made contact with the homeowner and determined it was an accidental activation of the alarm.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a counterfeit 50-dollar bill that was found at the Pot O’ Gold Casino. The bill was found to have Chinese symbols on the front and on the back of the bill. It was collected and placed into evidence.
