ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports July 27:
* On July 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to United Lane Athens on a report of a theft of bicycles. Dispatch advised the complainant had a visual of a male and female riding his bicycles on U.S. 50. The complainant then followed the subjects while on the phone with 911 and followed them out Fisher Road. Athens Police Department responded to assist. The caller lost sight of the subjects, and units then located the bikes laying in a yard of a residence. The subjects were then seen by persons living in the area going through back yards, and into the wooded area. Deputies then located the subjects, and they was taken into custody. They was then identified as Tanner R. Vermillion and Makenzie N. Cottrill. There were both found to have active warrants and was arrested on the warrants and charges of receiving stolen property.
