Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court on March 6:

* Candi Renee Leach, 36, 719 Old River Road, Williamstown, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was assessed $220.25 in fines and court costs.

* Ashlee Nicole Dugan, 18, 2005 Gihon Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to receiving or transferring stolen property, was sentenced to 60 days jail suspended for one year of probation with 30 hours community service and assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* James Allen Blow, 35, 932 Swann St., Apt. B, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for six months probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Pattie Jane Stillwagon, 35, 1304 13th Ave., Vienna, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court costs.

* James Alan Deems, 47, 1403 Ninth St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was assessed $185.25 in fines and court costs and a civil penalty of $120.

* Waylon Franklin McCune, 42, 4599 Staunton Turnpike, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to destruction of property, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation and assessed $660.25 in court costs and restitution.

* John Eugene Sams, 35, 35 Pineview Drive, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery, was sentenced to 60 days jail suspended for one year of probation and assessed $180.25 in court costs.

* Scott Allen Phillips, 32, 1625 Latrobe St., pleaded no contest to obstruction, was sentenced to time served and was assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Charles George Fischer, 41, 9450 Cisco Road, Petroleum, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court costs.

* Anthony Drake Flanagan, 31, 1202 Myrtle St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to battery of a government representative or medical personnel, was sentenced to 60 days jail suspended for six months probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Levi Uriah Bills, 28, 318 Fifth St., Apt. 4, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation with 20 hours community service and assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Thomas Edward Deem, 33, 15 Valley Mills Court, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to worthless check charge and was assessed $1,106.43 in fines, court costs and restitution.

* Mark L. Mitchell, 59, 30 West Overlook Drive, Zanesville, Ohio, pleaded no contest to speeding and was assessed $165.25 in fines and court costs.

* George A. Knighten, 53, 6647 Deerwalk Highway, Walker, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and a second-offense charge of driving under suspension and was released on $3,000 bond.

* Thomas Eugene Stevens III, 36, 51 Ridgewood Drive, Williamstown, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 15 grams and was released on $1,000 bond.

* Daniel James Drennen, 35, 36 Haught St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and second-offense driving under suspension and was released on $2,000 bond.

Wood Sheriff

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports March 6:

* On March 3, a citation was issued to Samantha Leigh Howard, 27, of Cow Creek Road, St. Marys, for expired registration.

* On March 3, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after a deputy observed the vehicle to be jerking back and forth within its lane touching both the yellow center line and white fog line. Upon contact with the driver and passengers they appeared to be attempting to keep the deputy from observing something on the floorboard of the vehicle. The deputy requested a K-9 and an officer from Parkersburg Police Department responded. The K-9 indicated on the vehicle and the subsequent search turned up multiple baggies which had been ripped open with the contents smashed into the back floorboard and dumped in the center console; also located was a set of scales, cash and several Ziploc baggies. Joshua James Kerns, 32, of Lake Washington Road, Washington, W.Va., was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Tiffany Marie Cook, 34, of Tiffany Lane, Elizabeth, was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Lucas Adam Shank, 36, of Tiffany Lane, Elizabeth, was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance as well as an active capias warrant.

* On March 4, a traffic stop was conducted on Emerson Avenue after a vehicle was observed speeding. Upon contact with the driver the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Willis Virgil Thompson, 40, of Fourth Street, Marietta, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and no operator’s license.

* On March 4, deputies responded to Pike Street and Viscose Road in reference to a single vehicle accident where the vehicle had struck a tree. Emergency medical staff was on scene removing the driver and while the deputy was searching for her ID and vehicle information they detected the strong odor of marijuana. A wooden box containing marijuana and a smoking pipe was located as was a mostly empty bottle of Vladimar vodka. The driver, Evelyn Anna Richards, 53, of 10th Avenue, Parkersburg, was transported to the hospital and issued a citation for DUI and possession of marijuana. The vehicle had been traveling north on West Virginia 14 when the driver failed to negotiate a turn, went off the road striking a parked vehicle, continued on and struck a tree.

* On March 4, a deputy responded to Staunton Turnpike in reference to a truck in a ditch. The truck had went off the roadway striking a utility pole then a newspaper box and a driveway culvert. The front passenger side had extensive damage. The interior of the vehicle smelled of alcohol and the deputy observed two boxes of Bud Light in the back seat. The deputy made contact by phone with the owner of the vehicle who advised that the person driving the truck was at the residence at this time. The deputy responded to the residence and spoke with the male who had been driving the vehicle. He stated he had left the scene because he was afraid he would be in trouble. Citations were issued to Adam Berry Parker, 35, of Elma Drive, Williamstown, for driving under suspension, striking fixtures and failure to report a crash.

* On March 4, a deputy spoke with the complainant at Oakbrook Lane in reference to unknown person(s) damaging her mailbox. The complainant reported that between March 3-4, someone extensively damaged the mailbox with the estimated cost to be $35.

* On March 4, a deputy responded to Hayes Street in reference to a destruction of property. The complainant reported that two tires had been slashed on his vehicles. Information and photos were gathered for a report and the incident remains under investigation.

* On March 4, a deputy responded to Hill Avenue in reference to a capias on a subject at the residence. Contact was made with Jay Eugene Barker, 29, of Lynn Street, Parkersburg, and advised of the active capias warrants. He was transported to the Wood County Holding Center for confinement pending his arraignment.

* On March 4, deputies responded to Pine Avenue in Mineral Wells in reference to a 911 hang up call. Deputies arrived and attempted contact with the caller with negative results. While checking the perimeter of the residence a deputy located a basement door which was opened and made entry into the residence and was met by a female who was the caller. The female subject appeared to be distraught and was observed to have scratch marks on her neck. The female advised she and her boyfriend were in an argument which became physical and he had left the residence when she called 911. While the deputy was taking a statement from the female he observed several hypodermic needles, along with digital scales, two glass bowls and a rolled pipe. Criminal complaints were submitted for warrants and deputies then located Thomas Edward Dickel, 40, of Hugh Street, Parkersburg, and served him the warrants for domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was transported to the Wood County Holding Center where he was processed and placed for arraignment.

* On March 5, deputies responded to Chateau Hills Court in reference to a domestic where the caller believed the female was being held against her will. Upon contact with the female she advised that she and the male were in a verbal argument and she wished for him to leave. Drew Austin Jones, 25, of Blackberry Lane, Elizabeth, was arrested on a charge of obstructing as he gave a false name to deputies while doing the investigation. Victoria Amorette Johnson, 22, of Camden Avenue, Parkersburg, was also arrested on a felony uttering warrant issued out of Wirt County.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports March 6:

* On March 3, a deputy responded to 234 Clifton Road, Little Hocking, for a reported theft. Upon arrival, the deputy met with Jamey Rauch in reference to the incident. Rauch stated he was missing two 50-foot welding leads off a welder and two heavy duty 100 ft. ten gauge extension cords. This case remains under investigation.

* On March 3, deputies were dispatched to Belpre Township in reference to a domestic violence dispute. After discussing the situation that had occurred with both parties, the incident was determined to be unfounded. The case was closed.

* On March 3, a deputy met with Samantha Smith, 143 Second St., Macksburg, in reference to a black metal trailer being stolen from 1483 Dutton Hill Road. This case remains under investigation.

* On March 4, a deputy responded to Arrow Material Services, 222 Dragstrip Road, Belpre, in reference to a subject trespassing on the property. Surveillance video and identification details of the individual were provided. This case remains under investigation.

* On March 4, deputies were dispatched to 1740 Brackenridge Road, Vincent, in reference to Adam Gorham stating his wife, Carol Gorham, had a firearm. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Adam and he advised that he had not been staying at their residence. Adam advised that he told Carol he would be staying at the residence that night because Carol was going to be away from the residence. Adam stated he fell asleep on the couch and was awakened by Carol starting a verbal argument with him. Adam advised that Carol made derogatory comments to him and then walked down the hallway to retrieve a shotgun which Adam believed was loaded. Adam advised he was in fear for his safety due to her actions. Adam said Carol finally put the shotgun down on the railing outside on the porch and waited in her vehicle for the deputies to arrive. Carol Elaine Gorham, 35, 1740 Brackenridge Road, Vincent, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. Adam requested a temporary protection order be filed with Marietta Municipal Court.

* On March 4, a deputy along with the Warren Volunteer Fire Department responded to 2036 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, in reference to a fire at the Energizer Battery Plant. Prior to the deputy’s arrival, employees at the plant had the fire extinguished. The deputy spoke with fire personnel who advised that the area had been checked where the fire was located and it was extinguished prior to their arrival. Plant personnel believe there was an electrical short that resulted with the fire. No foul play is suspected. The case was closed.

* On March 4, deputies were dispatched to Salem Township in regards to an unruly juvenile. After discussing the series of events with both parties, the juvenile was charged with domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Juvenile Center. The case was closed.

* On March 5, a deputy responded to R&J Trucking, 14530 State Route 7, Marietta, for a report of criminal damaging and theft. Employees provided information on several trucks that were damaged and how they were damaged. This case remains under investigation.

* On March 5, deputies and the New Matamoras squad responded to Grandview Township in reference to an unresponsive male. This case remains under investigation.

The following warrants were processed at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

* Kelly Lambert, 1071 Terrance Court, Zanesville, Ohio, for failure to appear.

* William Mitchell, 884 Green Hill Road, Marietta, for failure to appear.

* Vickie M. Thompson, 300 Starlite Drive, Marietta, for failure to appear.

* Patrick C. Jackson, 2301 Rockland Ave., Belpre, for failure to appear.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Friday and Monday:

* Erica Jean Wall, 37, 706 Cisler Drive, Marietta, on a warrant for breach of recognizance and theft, both misdemeanors. Wall was arrested on Fourth Street by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 3 at 8:59 p.m.

* Eric D. Wright, 31, 550 Arches Fork, New Matamoras, on a warrant for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Wright was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 3 at 11:53 p.m.

* Jessica Dawn Beaver, 34, 765 Dana Run Road, Newport, on warrants for failure to appear, two probation violations and assault, all misdemeanors. Beaver was arrested at her residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 1:11 a.m.

* Glenn Roger Johnson Jr., 30, 116 Harmar St., Marietta, for felonious assault and attempted tampering with evidence, felonies, theft, criminal damaging, resisting arrest and obstructing official business, misdemeanors. Johnson was arrested on Maple Street and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 2:11 a.m.

* Carol Elaine Gorham, 35, 1740 Brackenridge Road, Vincent, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Gorham was arrested at her residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 4:24 a.m.

* Brooke Yvonne Rutter, 22, 1356 Athena Lane, Zanesville, Ohio, for falsification, a misdemeanor. Rutter was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 12:33 p.m.

* Ted Jackon Nutter, 42, 638 Wynn Gate Road, Lot A, Marietta, for burglary, a felony, and theft, a misdemeanor. Nutter was arrested on Second Street by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 1:32 p.m.

* George Alexander Lattea, 18, 125 Dean St., Marietta, on a warrant for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Lattea was arrested at Captain D’s by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 4 at 6:30 p.m.

* Brandon Michael Eales, 19, 85 Forshey, Reno, for two counts of corrupting another with drugs, both felonies. Eales was arrested at Buckeye Park by the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 5 at 12:25 a.m.

* Aaron Matthew Huseman, 29, 240 Putnam Place, Marietta, for OVI, driving under suspension, no seat belt, plates/fictitious and consuming in vehicle, all misdemeanors. Huseman was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 5 at 2:56 p.m.

Parkersburg Police

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Police Department released the following reports March 6:

* The Parkersburg Police Department answered 240 calls for service over the weekend of March 3-5.

* Daniel Drennen, 35, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 6 on charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving under suspension.

* Thomas Stevens, 36, of Williamstown, was arrested March 6 on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

* Donavan Suttle, 29, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 5 on charges of possession of marijuana less than 15 grams, driving under suspension and fleeing.

* David Vore, 30, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 4 on charges of possession of marijuana less than 15 grams and possession of a controlled substance.

* Norma Dotson, 48, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 4 on a warrant for shoplifting.

* Nathan Caplinger, 38, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 3 on charges of third-offense driving under suspension and no seat belt.

* Robert Mahan, 61, of Parkersburg, was arrested March 3 on a destruction of property charge.

* Brian Peters, 32, of Mineral Wells, was arrested March 3 on charges of third-offense driving under suspension and improper registration.

* On March 5, officers responded to Murdoch Avenue in reference to a breaking and entering.

* On March 4, officers responded to Harrison Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance.

* On March 4, officers responded to Dollar Tree in reference to a shoplifting.

* On March 4, officers responded to K-mart in reference to shoplifting and cited Seth Burke.

* On March 4, officers responded to Ohio Avenue in reference to a shoplifting.

* On March 4, officers responded to Family Dollar in reference to a shoplifting and cited Joshua Murphy.

* On March 4, Destiny Brown reported a fraud scheme.

* On March 3, officers responded to Emerson Avenue in reference to a destruction of property.

* On March 3, officers responded to Oak Street in reference to a burglary.

* On March 3, officers responded to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting.

* On March 3, officers responded to Birch Street in reference to a vehicle entry.

* On March 3, Brian Jones reported a destruction of property.

* On March 3, Joseph Barnett reported a petit larceny.

* On March 3, officers responded to station in reference to several calls regarding fraudulent use of credit cards.

* Between March 3-5, officers investigated five motor vehicle accidents.

Belpre Police

BELPRE — The Belpre Police Department released the following reports on March 6:

* On March 3, Benjamin R. Coffman, 40, of 70 Center St., Beverly, was arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, driving under suspension, fictitious license plates and for expired registration.

* On March 3, Natalie M. Page, 35, of 137 Franklin St., Marietta, was cited for speeding, 69 mph in a 50 mph zone.

* On March 3, Michael R. Gray, 54, of 4392 Volcano Road, Walker, was cited for having an expired registration.

* On March 3, James R. Jude, 24, of 709 1/2 Gladstone St., Parkersburg, was cited for driving with only a temporary permit.

* On March 3, Ricky D. Ayers, 59, of 908 Main St., Belpre, was arrested on charges of OVI and no turn signal.

* On March 4, Anthony A. Long, 22, of 51 Echo Valley Road, Waterford, was cited on charges of driving under suspension, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On March 4, John H. Smith, 30, of 106 Becky Lane, Middlebourne, was cited for a seat belt violation.

* On March 4, Joey W. Major Jr., 60, of 1517 Boulevard Drive, Belpre, was cited for speeding, 43 mph in a 25 mph zone.

* On March 4, James A. Ash, 58, of 5090 Whipple Run Road, Whipple, was cited for having illegal license plates.

* On March 4, Julie A. Ash, 41, of 5090 Whipple Run Road, Whipple, was cited for a seat belt violation.

* On March 4, Kimberly M. Trimble, 61, of 1620 1/2 Hill St., Belpre, was cited for having an expired registration.

* On March 4, Ericlee Harmon Jr., 27, of 1204 Hocking Road, Belpre, was arrested on charges of OVI, failure to comply with an officer’s order or signal, driving under an OVI suspension, no motorcycle endorsement, fictitious license plates, expired registration, speed, no turn signal and having an open container.

* On March 5, Jeremiah I. Reams, 33, of 809 Warren Ave., Belpre, was cited for DUS for failure to reinstate and for a stop sign violation.

* On March 5, Christina M. Ingram, 34, of 5 Third St., Belpre, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On March 5, Jeffrey L. Ingram, 37, of 5 Third St., Belpre, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
