Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Dec. 6:

* On Dec. 3, Allyson Lewis, 1720 Hupp Road, Beverly, reported a domestic incident that occurred between Dec. 1-2 at a residence she shared with Zackariah H. Earley, 27, 176 Dana Road, Newport. Lewis reported that on Dec. 1 she picked up Earley on Leith Run Road after he had been hunting. Lewis reported they returned to the residence and Earley wanted to get a shower and go back to his friend’s residence. Lewis advised Earley she would take him in the morning when she went to work. Lewis stated Earley began arguing with her so she went to bed. Lewis stated Earley came in to the bedroom around midnight, flipped on the lights, and pulled the covers off her and slapped her bare leg, telling her to get up. After more arguing Lewis began striking at Earley trying to get him off of her. Lewis stated Earley eventually got up, all the while making more derogatory statements towards her. Lewis stated the next morning she got up at approximately 6:30 a.m. and when Earley realized she was up he told her he called her off of work. Earley then took the car keys and pinned her up against the wall. Lewis stated she began to punch Earley to get him to let her go and eventually was able to free herself. Lewis went outside and upon coming back into the residence she noted that Earley was passed out sleeping again. Lewis stated Earley woke around 5 p.m. and began yelling at her again, and still would not give her the car keys. Lewis called for someone to come get her and after getting off the phone, Earley grabbed her and threw her on the floor, straddling her across her chest. Lewis was able to get up off the floor and run to the bedroom. Earley followed her into the bedroom and locked the door. Earley demanded Lewis give him back her engagement ring, and when she didn’t he put her in a head and neck hold and put her on the floor, forcibly removing the ring from her finger. Lewis stated Earley released her after obtaining the ring and she was able to gather clothes for her and the child. Earley then gave her the car keys so she was able to leave the residence. Lewis stated that Earley caused her to be in fear for her safety and she believed he was trying to cause physical harm to her. As a result of this incident Lewis requested a protection order be issued. Lewis stated he has been verbally abusive in the past, but his behavior has been escalating. A warrant is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for domestic violence on Zackariah H. Earley.
