Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG – Two hearings took place late Monday in Wood County Circuit Court.

* Bethany Watson, 36, 1017 Stadium Drive, St. Marys, entered a plea agreement with the state to plead guilty to charges of breaking and entering and obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery or deception as charged by the May 2015 grand jury. Judge Robert Waters set a plea and a possible sentencing hearing for 1:30 p.m. Dec. 22.

* Ronald Edward Frye Jr., 42, 1327 21st St., Vienna, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a bill of information charging him with third-offense driving on a suspended or revoked license for DUI. Waters set sentencing for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 22.

PARKERSBURG – The following cases appeared in Wood County Circuit Court on Oct. 13:

* Dakota David-Ryan Mackey, 22, Parkersburg, was sentenced Tuesday on charges of involuntary manslaughter, person prohibited from possessing a firearm, wanton endangerment with a firearm and possession of a controlled subtance with intent to deliver.

Mackey was sentenced to one year in jail on the manslaughter count with no credit for time served, one year in jail with credit for time served on the firearm possession charge, five years in prison on the wanton endangerment charge with no credit for time served and one to five years in prison on the drug possession charge with no credit for time served. The sentences will run consecutively, with the two jail terms served first. He was also assessed court costs, fees and restitution.

Mackey was indicted on the charges March 17, 2015, and pleaded guily to all counts on Aug. 17. He was arrested Feb. 1, 2015, after shooting 20-year-old Dallas Marie White with a firearm, resulting in her death.

* Austin Richard Harper, 22, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday on a charge of wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

He was sentenced to three years in prison with credit for time served and the sentence was suspended for three years of probation. He was assessed court costs and fees.

Harper was indicted on the charge Jan. 15, 2015.
