MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on Sept. 24:

* On Sept. 24, an officer checked on a report of a man that had fallen asleep at the wheel of his vehicle on Greene Street at the Williamstown Bridge. The vehicle was gone on the officer’s arrival.

* On Sept. 24, an officer checked on a possible theft at 836 Pike St. The officer could not verify that a theft had happened.

* On Sept. 24, officers checked on a possible break-in at 832 Front St. There was no break-in, just construction workers.

* On Sept. 24, officers checked on a possible burglary at 121 High St. The matter was found to be a misunderstanding.

* On Sept. 24, an officer advised a resident in the 400 block of Third Street to put out a small fire.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following report on Sept. 23.

* On Sept. 22, an employee of Wal-Mart reported the theft of a 52-inch flat screen television valued at $1,398.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on Sept. 18.

* On Sept. 17, Ashley N. Caplinger, 22, of 311 Walnut St., Lowell, Ohio, was arrested at Marietta Police headquarters on a municipal court warrant for a parking violation. Caplinger posted a $175 bond and was released.

* On Sept. 17, Kristin N. Dutcher, 31, of 300 Ridgewood Drive was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 100 block of Gross Street after she ran into a boulder with her 2007 Cadillac. Dutcher was taken to headquarters where she refused to take a urine test. Dutcher was released to her fiance.

* On Sept. 18, Thomas John Beringer, 24, of 120 Masonic Park Road was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the 900 block of Greene Street after he struck a telephone pole at an unknown location. Beringer was taken to headquarters where he tested .290 percent BAC. Beringer was released to a friend.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following report Sept. 17:

* Chelsea Marie Curry, 25, of 207 Cherry St., Apt. 201, St. Marys, was arrested Tuesday at Wal-Mart for felony theft and obstructing official business after she allegedly stole $1,204.67 worth of merchandise from the store. Curry had filled a shopping cart with merchandise and then pushed the cart out of the store. While an officer was speaking with Curry at the store, she became boisterous and started cursing at the officer and other customers. Curry was handcuffed and taken to jail.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports Sept. 15-16:

* Yvonne Marie Brandt, 30, of 311 Maple St., Marietta, was arrested Saturday in the 300 block of Maple Street on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication and was taken to jail.

* Anthony James Curry, 25, of 554 Curry Road, Waterford, was arrested Sunday on a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication in the 100 block of Front Street and taken to jail.

* An employee of Wal-Mart reported the theft of a drill/impact driver set that happened on Sept. 1.

* David Lee Carr III, 28, of 331 N. Seventh St., was arrested Monday after a pursuit on charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless operation and disorderly conduct by fighting. An officer was dispatched to 120 Pike St. in reference to a 911 disturbance call alleging that Carr had cut another vehicle off at 736 Greene St., then followed it to 120 Pike St., where he reached into the other vehicle and smacked a passenger. As the officer approached, Carr swerved around him and headed west on Pike Street. The pursuit traveled north on Seventh Street with speeds reaching 75 mph. Carr swerved into a driveway and fled on foot. Carr was subsequently located at the rear of his residence, where he was arrested and taken to jail.

* Grant Anthony Kegley, 23, homeless, was arrested in the 300 block of Pike Street in connection with a theft at Kmart. Kegley had stolen video game accessories valued at $134.98. Kegley was taken to jail.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on Sept. 11:

* On Sept. 10 Seth Everette Lawrence, 19, 220 Sheldon Ave., was arrested in the 100 block of Cisler Lane for possession of drug paraphernalia and a Municipal Court warrant for disorderly conduct.

* On Sept. 10 officers checked on a fight at 217 Greene St. Nothing was found.

* On Sept. 10 an officer investigated a report of telephone harassment at 105 Sunnyhill Drive. A male was advised to stop calling or be charged.

* On Sept. 10 an officer checked on a property dispute at 101 Gilman Ave. The matter was found to be civil in nature.

* On Sept. 11 officers checked on a prowler at 305 Washington St. No one was found.

* On Sept. 11 officers checked on a report of a fight in the parking lot at 109 N. Second St. Nothing was found.

* On Sept. 11 officers checked on an argument at 1001 Third St. The female involved left for the evening.

* On Sept. 9, an officer investigated a theft of $20 from the Duke and Duchess, 120 Pike St.

* On Sept. 9, an officer checked on a report of a large snake on the sidewalk in front of 464 Pike St.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following report on Sept. 9.

* On Sept. 8, the manager of Speedway, 100 N Seventh St., reported an adult male broke a door glass when leaving the store after being refused alcohol due to an illegible I.D. card. The suspect is a white male, 35-45 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6-feet, 250 to 300 pounds with red hair.

MARIETTA – The following reports were released Sept. 8 by the Marietta Police Department:

* On Sept. 5, Jeffrey Thomas Johnson, 39, 780 Greene St., was cited in the 200 block of Front Street for driving under suspension and expired registration.

* On Sept. 7, Derek Jordan Jones, 22, of 933 Wingett Run Road, Wingett Run, was cited for OVI, fleeing and eluding, driving under suspension, no headlights and left of center after he led police on a chase Ohio 26. At about 3:37 a.m., an officer observed Jones traveling east in the 1000 block of Greene Street with no headlights on. The officer attempted to stop Jones in the 1300 block of Greene Street but Jones continued, leaving city limits. The pursuit continued on Ohio 26 for about 12 miles with speeds of 35 to 40 mph. Jones finally stopped near 15 Mile Creek Road and was arrested. Jones advised officers he did not have to pull over until he felt it was safe to do so. Jones was taken to headquarters where he refused to take a blood-alcohol concentration test. Jones was taken to jail on a municipal court probation holder.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on Sept. 4:

* On Sept. 3, an officer checked on a possible counterfeit $100 bill at Speedway, 100 North Seventh St. The bill was found to be genuine.

* On Sept. 3, Sherri L. Brenneman, 36, 102 Muskingum Drive, was arrested for assault at her residence and later released on a personal recognizance bond.

MARIETTA – The Marietta Police Department released the following reports on Sept. 2:

* On Aug. 30, Jamie Lee Littleton II, 21, of 6850 Ohio 821, Whipple, was arrested in the 800 block of Front Street for OVI. Littleton was taken to headquarters where he tested .143 percent blood-alcohol concentration.

* On Aug. 30, Christopher Gray Pearson, age 46 of 240 Hillcrest Drive, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication at 219 Putnam St. and was taken to jail.

* On Aug. 30, Charles Raymond Cody Miller, 18, of 910 Caywood Road was arrested at 922 Front St. for three counts of corrupting another with drugs and one count of drug abuse after he gave three juvenile girls a synthetic substance, K-2. Miller was taken to jail.

* On Aug. 30, Shannon Marie Lang, 34, of 355 Bowersock Road, Reno, was arrested for a probation violation at 328 Pike St., and was taken to jail.

* On Aug. 31, A 21-year-old Lancaster, Pa., woman reported she had been sexually assaulted by a man known to her.

* On Aug. 31, Ali Martin, 25, of 101 Stonecrest Drive reported she was assaulted by a 21-year-old woman at Speedway, 100 N Seventh St.

* On Aug. 31, an officer investigated a report of a cat being left in a car at Kmart for about an hour. The cat was taken from the vehicle and appeared to be OK. The driver of the vehicle came to headquarters later to be interviewed and give a written statement.

* On Sept. 1, Brittany Ann Diebel, 18, of 801 Kerns Drive, Bolivar, Ohio, was arrested at Kroger for the theft of Orajel valued at $6.96.

* On Sept. 1, Damon Christopher Brubaker, 40, of 418 Reid Road, Owensboro, Ky., was arrested in the 800 block of Pike Street for theft and receiving stolen property.
