MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on June 27.

* On June 26, Chad D. Barth, 45, 3370 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported on more than one occasion during the past few days someone entered his barn near the intersection of Winters Road and Roberts Road in Wesley Township. Among the stolen items were a ratchet, a socket, a drill and a power saw.

* On June 26, Connie M. Hupp, 50, 336 Wrights Road, Marietta, reported the Ohio Department of Taxation recently informed her that an individual attempted to use her personal information to file a tax return.

* On June 26, John D. Carpenter, 41, 3635 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital for a gunshot wound on his left calve. Carpenter was target shooting on his property and believed he expended all of the rounds in his .22 pistol’s magazine. While he was seated at a table, Carpenter ejected the magazine and accidentally shot himself. The bullet entered and exited Carpenter’s leg cleanly and did not strike any bone or arteries. Carpenter was to be released later in the day.

* Diana Lee Shuster, 41, 7665 E. State Route 78, McConnelsville, was arrested for identity theft, a felony. Shuster was picked up at the Morgan County line by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 26 at 10:37 a.m.

* Jared Stephen Tanner, 19, 69 Morris Road, Marietta, was arrested for assault and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Tanner was arrested at Marietta College by Officer Johnson of the Marietta College Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 26 at 5:59 p.m.

* William Charles Sprouse, 30, 777 W. Ridge Street, Columbus, Ohio, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation and for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Sprouse was apprehended in Columbus by a bondsman and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 27 at 2:31 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Department released the following reports on June 26:

* On June 24, Deputy Sheriff McKee requested warrants for Cody D. Womack, 23, address unknown, for domestic violence and menacing. Womack phoned the mother of his children, Chrystal Hopkins, 21, 623 Rollyson Road, Lowell, and allegedly threatened to cut her throat and kill her. Hopkins said Womack has a history of mental illness and she feared for her safety and for that of her children. Additionally, Womack spoke to Hopkins’ mother and threatened to beat her and her husband. Hopkins’ mother also said Womack’s comments caused her to fear for her family’s safety.

* On June 25, Stanley R. Ullman, 68, 3010 State Route 550, Bartlett, reported someone overnight stole a 1995 Honda Foreman ATV from under a shed behind his home.

* On June 25, Joey L. Hill, 31, 205 A Coal Run Road, Marietta, reported he was involved in an argument with the mother of his children, Jennifer L. Tatterson, 26, 353 Third St., Mason, W.Va. At one point, Tatterson swung a car seat, with her child in it, in Hill’s direction. Tatterson subsequently punched Hill on the right side of his head, leaving him with ringing in his ear. Determining Hill feared for his safety, Deputy Sheriff Call arrested Tatterson for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail June 25 and June 26:

* Jennifer Louise Tatterson, 26, 353 Third St., Mason, W.Va., for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Tatterson was arrested in Reno by Sgt. Anderson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 25 at 2:34 p.m.

* Thurman Lee Smith, 44, 833 Second St., Marietta, for criminal trespassing and for disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 25 at 4:42 p.m.

* Tracy Michael Parker, 21, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Parker was arrested on Euclid Avenue by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 25 at 11:03 p.m.

* Brandon Lee Gibbs, 21, 827 Ridge St., Marietta, for breach of recognizance and for three counts of assault, all misdemeanors. Gibbs was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 26 at 1:38 a.m.

* Rodrick Domion Pettis, 25, 1207 Canal Winchester Drive, Columbus, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. Pettis was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Heddleston of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 26 at 2:46 a.m.

There are 91 men and 20 women being housed in the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on June 24.

* On June 19, Deputy Sheriff McKee requested a summons for a 17-year-old Marietta resident to appear in juvenile court for being unruly. The teenager’s mother reported her son has no respect for her or his teachers and stated he curses, kicks doors, screams and throws things if he does not get his way. Despite being previously warned that if he did not change his behavior he would be charged, the juvenile continued to be disrespectful to his mother and ignored her rules.

* On June 19, a 51-year-old Marietta resident reported he received an unwanted text message from his ex-wife. The suspect was advised on multiple occasions during the past year to cease contact with the victim. She now faces a charge of telecommunications harassment.

* On June 21, Mary A. Pannell, 58, 3569 Veto Road, Vincent, reported during the past week someone entered a large pole barn on her property and stole an Aussie grill and four garbage bags full of clothing. Other property may be missing as well, but Pannell was unsure what else was stolen.

* On June 21, Sgt. Anderson and Deputy Sheriff McPeek responded to an altercation on Lane Road in Vincent. Angry his brother called his girlfriend a derogatory name, a 17-year-old charged at his 21-year-old brother in an aggressive manner and attempted to strike him. The older brother retaliated by punching his brother in the face and putting him in a headlock. Family members intervened shortly thereafter and separated the two. Witnesses concurred that both parties were arguing and that the younger brother approached his brother aggressively. Neither party desired to pursue charges against the other.

* On June 23, Deputy Sheriff McGilton requested a summons for Kenneth R. Rogers, 26, 230 E. Faye St., Marietta, for failure to confine-restrain a dog. A neighbor of Rogers reported his brown and white pit bull frequently runs loose and that she cannot let her dog outside in her backyard because they would fight. Rogers was warned on prior occasions to restrain his dog.

* On June 23, Amy N. Plants, 34, 3235 Lake Road, Fleming, reported she sent $650 via Western Union to an individual she met on the Internet for the purchase of a Great Dane puppy. After Plants confronted the suspect over discrepancies she discovered in Delta Airlines’ booking policy for animals and the one provided by the suspect, Plants said the suspect has refused to answer her communications. This case remains under investigation.

* Tina Marie Sims, 50, 419 Florence St., Belpre, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Sims was arrested on Elm Street by Patrolman Holiday of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 23 at 9:15 p.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on June 23.

* On June 20, an employee of Family Ford, 909 Pike St., Marietta, reported over the past week an unknown male has been stealing scrap material from the back of the business’s lot. Among the stolen items are metal studs, tubing and parts of gutters.

* On June 20, Christina M. Giammona, 34, 530 1/2 High St., Macksburg, reported as of 6:30 a.m., her live-in boyfriend, Brian D. Bates, 38, had been consuming alcohol since the previous evening and was highly inebriated. At one point, Bates became verbally aggressive, poked Giammona in the chest and threatened to kill Giammona’s brother, Robert Giammona, 32, who also lives at the residence, police said. While Robert Giammona was asleep on a couch, Bates repeatedly punched him in the face. Before fleeing the residence, Bates used a large rock to break the windshield of his girlfriend’s vehicle. Deputy Call arrested Bates two days later on a count of criminal damaging and two counts of domestic violence.

* On June 20, Deputy Sheriff Reeder and the Barlow and Wesley volunteer fire departments responded to a fire at the home of Roger McDonald, 62, at 827 Darnold Road, Vincent. When McDonald returned to his home after being away for a short period that evening he found smoke emanating from his basement. Thereafter, McDonald noticed flames in a corner of the basement. The Wesley fire chief said the fire could have been caused by a lightning strike that melted the plastic coating on antenna wires, which then dripped onto and ignited a mattress in the basement.

* On June 21, Sarah M. Myers, 35, 341 Main St., Lower Salem, reported she recently noticed a corn sheller, a dirt bike, tiller and plow tractor attachments, a reciprocating saw and a log chain were stolen from her garage.

* On June 21, Estell Gallagher, 85, 417 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, reported she believes her grandson obtained a debit card for her bank account without her permission and used it to make in excess of $10,000 in unauthorized withdrawals since November 2013.

* On June 22, Deputy Sheriff Underwood issued a citation to Kimberly K. Brown, 33, 2274 Tick Ridge Road, Lower Salem, for driving under a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with expired license plates. Underwood stopped Brown on State Route 821 near Back Road in Aurelius Township.

* Joseph Richard Fox, 34, 215 1/2 Second St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Fox was arrested on Putnam Street by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 10:30 a.m.

* Corey Thomas Sapp Jr., 23, 1012 E. Lee St., Belpre, was arrested for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a felony. Sapp was arrested on Ohio 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 11:03 a.m.

* Courtney Nichole Clayton, 21, 414 Strecker Lane, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Clayton was arrested on Ohio 7 by Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 11:25 a.m.

* Michael Dale Valentine, 36, 833 Second St. Apt. 4, Marietta, was arrested for assault and criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Valentine was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 2:44 p.m.

* Nicholas James Patterson, 31, 2201 Murray St., Belpre, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Patterson was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff Gerber and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 3:27 p.m.

* Derek Scott Thompson, 24, 810 Best Hollow Road, Whipple, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and for failure to yield, both misdemeanors. Thompson was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Harlow of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 21 at 1:23 a.m.

* Thurman Lee Smith, 44, 833 Second St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hupp of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 20 at 12:28 p.m.

* George Jeremy Ward, 42, Dutton Hill Road, Macksburg, was arrested for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Ward was arrested on Ohio 821 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 21 at 9:04 p.m.

* Steven Lee Sealey Jr., 35, 1417 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, was arrested for breach of recognizance and for two counts of failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Sealey was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 22 at 12:25 a.m.

* Brian Daniel Bates, 38, 19891 Everly Road, Sarahsville, Ohio, was arrested for criminal damaging, for violating the terms of his probation and for two counts of domestic violence, all misdemeanors. Bates was arrested in Macksburg by Deputy Sheriff Call and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 22 at 1:02 p.m.

  • On June 19, a deputy issued a citation to Clay D. Hannahs, 19, 51767 Richard Clark Road, Summerfield, Ohio, on a charge of traveling 85 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 77 near milepost 13 in Salem Township.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Thursday and Friday:

  • Angela Lynn Tucker, 46, 508 Second St., Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Tucker was arrested in Marietta by the Marietta Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 19.
  • Gina Marie Loy, 26, 1222 Williamson Ave., New Matamoras, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Loy was arrested at the Washington County Courthouse by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 19.
  • Melody Ann Keene, 60, 1222 Williamson Ave., New Matamoras, for possession of drug abuse instruments and receiving stolen property, both misdemeanors. Keene was arrested at her residence by the New Matamoras Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 19.
  • Cody John Keene, 18, 1222 Williamson Ave., New Matamoras, for possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor. Keene was arrested at his residence by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 19.
  • Joseph Lee Slider, 24, 1222 Williamson Ave., New Matamoras, for felony charges of aggravated robbery and burglary and a misdemeanor charge of driving under suspension. MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on June 19.

* On June 14, Deputy Sheriff Metts arrested Cody A. Mugrage, 24, 25 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for aggravated burglary and domestic violence. Mugrage traveled to the home of the mother of his children at 2145 Hanna Road, Marietta, and kicked the front door off its hinges. In a fit of rage, Mugrage shoved Samantha Smith, 26, to the floor and destroyed her phone when she tried to phone for help. Seeing the incident unfold, neighbors intervened and pulled Mugrage away from Smith. Mugrage has allegedly been mentally unstable since Smith ended their relationship over a month ago. He said earlier in the day that he was going to go to Smith’s residence to hurt her. Smith stated she feared for her safety and that had her neighbors not intervened Mugrage would have killed her.

* On June 16, Brian Valentine, 34, 900 Ferry St., Beverly, reported sometime overnight someone forced open the door to his kitchen and stole six beers, approximately $150 and a .45 handgun.

* On June 17, Terrence D. Roddy, 43, 785 Warrior Drive, Vincent, reported he believed his neighbor stole two diesel truck batteries from his property during the past day. Roddy said his neighbor, Reginald Pumphrey, 42, 815 Warrior Drive, has a particular gait and the suspect he observed on his surveillance camera matches Pumphrey’s description and walks the same way as he does. Questioned about the batteries, Pumphrey acknowledged selling two batteries to a scrap yard but did not have a response when Deputy Sheriff Huffer mentioned he was caught on video. Based on his investigation, Deputy Huffer arrested Pumphrey for theft and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

* Talon Daniel Feucht, 19, 843 Greene St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Feucht was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 18 at 12:31 p.m.

* Steven Douglas Fulton, 61, Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Fulton was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Sury of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 18 at 8:59 p.m.

* Christopher Adam Sciance, 24, 735 Seventh St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, possession of drugs and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Sciance was arrested on Montgomery Street by Patrolman Pinkerton of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 18 at 9:13 p.m.

* Scott Lee Carpenter, 52, 413 1/2 Third St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman Hansen of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 18 at 10:18 p.m.

MARIETTA – The following reports and charges were released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on June 18:

* On June 14, Lt. Rhodes issued a citation to Christopher S. Crown, 24, 2616 Blake Road, Coolville, for operating a vehicle with an expired registration on U.S. 50 near Farson Street in Belpre Township.

* On June 16, Lt. Thorpe issued a citation to James W. Smith, 27, 127 Euclid Place, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Thorpe originally stopped Smith for having fictitious plates on Pike Street near Wal-Mart in Pioneer Township.

* On June 17, Deputy Sheriff Reeder requested a summons for Curt E. Hendershot, 43, 11 First Ave., New Matamoras, for criminal damaging. Following an argument with his wife, Hendershot pursued his wife to her sister’s apartment nearby. At the apartment, Hendershot kicked and punched the home’s screen door and shattered the glass. Hendershot departed and returned to the apartment on two occasions and further damaged the door both times.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Dana K. Knapp, 56, 381 Shady Lane, Walker, for traveling 75 mph in a 60 mph zone on State Route 7 near milepost 16 in Warren Township.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Michele M. Murphy, 46, 159 Barrett South Road, Vincent, for traveling 68 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Nicholas S. Lemley, 25, 1214 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for traveling 63 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Jeremy A. Taylor, 33, 1803 Ashby Ridge Road, Parkersburg, for traveling 81 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Lani S. Bower, 46, 1474 Jacobs Lane, Kent, Ohio, for traveling 61 mph in a 50 mph zone on U.S. 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

* On June 17, Sgt. Mankins issued a citation to Robert C. Canter, 58, 8063 Lavelle Road, Athens, for traveling 72 mph in a 50 mph zone on State Route 7 near milepost 17 in Warren Township.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday and Wednesday:

* Taylor Layne Parmiter, 23, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Parmiter was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Jamal Johnte Fuller, 21, Marietta, for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, identity theft, four counts of possession of drugs and four counts of trafficking in drugs, all felonies. Fuller was arrested at the Fairfield County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Doak and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* William McKinley Weekley III, 50, 103 Chalet Lane, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Weekley was arrested at the office of Probation Officer E. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* John Patrick Perry, 22, 231 Hillcrest Drive Apt. A, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Perry was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Corey Wayne Cowan, 24, 530 Millgate Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Cowan was arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Brandon Joshua Blevins, 25, 95 Sandhill Road Apt. 2, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Blevins was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Lonnie Merle Starcher, 46, 1043 East State St., Athens, for breach of recognizance, possession of drugs and for disorderly conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports June 16:

* On June 13, Sylvia Richards, 89, 1635 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, was retrieving her mail when she stepped in a small ditch and fell. Richards attempted to catch herself but broke her right arm at the elbow in the process and then struck her head on the paved roadway. She is expected to recover fully.

* On June 13, a deputy arrested Gene Arthur Beatty Jr., 57, 3317 Third Ave., Parkersburg, on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, consuming alcohol in a vehicle and possession of drugs. A caller reported Beatty had been consuming alcohol and was driving a silver Toyota truck. The deputy located Beatty’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after he committed traffic violations on Ohio 339 in Dunham Township, police said. Beatty had an odor of alcohol and a half full can of beer in the front seat of his vehicle. Following his poor performance on field sobriety tests, the deputy found a small bag of alleged marijuana in Beatty’s pocket. At the Washington County Jail, Beatty tested 0.118 percent for blood-alcohol content.

* On June 14, the bartender at the Edgewater, 860 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, reported while she left the bar unattended for a short period that afternoon, she believes two patrons stole $400 from the bar’s lottery game cash box.

* On June 15, a friend reported he had not seen or heard from Andrew Smith, 47, 770 Dalzell Road, Whipple, since the previous evening. Smith departed his friend’s residence at 10 p.m. and was driving a UTV to his home. A passerby observed Smith in a creek near the bank close to 385 Hull Road, Whipple, after 10 a.m. It appeared that Smith attempted to cross the creek in his UTV and became stuck. Smith was able to exit the UTV but could not make it to the creek bank. Though his body temperature dropped to 87 degrees, Smith did not suffer any serious injuries, police said. Emergency room personnel said Smith would be kept overnight for observation .

* Larry Eugene Stevens Jr., 45, 1585 1/2 Coal St., Chesterhill, for two misdemeanor counts of failure to appear. Stevens was picked up at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 13.

* Glenn Francis Young Jr., 49, 303 Jennison St., Beverly, for theft and for violating the terms of his probation, both felonies. Young was picked up at the Meigs County Jail by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 13.

* Gene Arthur Beatty Jr., 57, 3317 Third Ave., Parkersburg, for OVI, consuming alcohol in a vehicle and possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Beatty was arrested on Ohio 550 in Barlow by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 13.

* Nyowka Christinea Taylor, 23, 27927 Huckleberry Road, Hockingport, Ohio, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Taylor was arrested on Hawkin Road by the Belpre Police Department and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 14.

* Alexander Dean Miller, 18, 1660 Finkle Hill Road, Beverly, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested on Ohio 339 in Waterford by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 14.

* Jacob Cole Schilling, 18, 215 Ohio 339, Beverly, for OVI, for not wearing a seat belt and for failure to obey a traffic control device, all misdemeanors. * Russell Robert Reindl, 55, 114 Jett Star Drive, Hockingport, Ohio, for violating the terms of a protection order and for driving under an OVI suspended license, both misdemeanors. MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges June 13.

* On June 6, Detective Mayle requested a summons for Brandon H. Chapman, 41, 2701 Mill St., Coolville, for disorderly conduct. Chapman aggressively confronted his estranged wife while she was in an exam room at an optometrist’s office in Marietta on June 2 and yelled derogatory names at her. Accusing his wife of lying and keeping secrets from him, Chapman attempted to usurp his wife’s mobile phone from the front pocket of her scrub shirt. In doing so, Chapman scraped his wife’s left arm. The incident ended shortly thereafter and Chapman exited the office. Ms. Chapman stated she did not feel her estranged husband intended to cause her harm during the incident.

* Tytus Lamarr Shields, 25, Marietta, for menacing, a misdemeanor. Shields was arrested in Marietta by the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on June 12.

* On June 11, Matthew J. McGuire, 32, 44504 State Route 78, Woodsfield, was inside Par Mar at 17785 Ohio 7, Marietta, when the parked Ford pickup truck he was driving coasted backward in the parking lot into the front passenger side fender of a parked International semi-truck owned by Iddings Trucking. The driver of the semi-truck was standing on the opposite side of the truck speaking to a Highway Patrol trooper after his vehicle was involved in another crash minutes earlier. The incident caused minor damage to both vehicles. The Ford truck McGuire was driving is owned by Eramet of Marietta.

* On June 11, Deputy Sheriff McGilton requested a summons for Samuel E. Hesson, 35, 155 Sunset Drive, Marietta, for failure to register a dog and for failing to confine/restrain a dog. Neighbors of Hesson reported his two dogs are loose throughout the day and night and fight with neighborhood dogs that are restrained. Despite being previously advised to restrain his dogs, Hesson continued to allow his dogs to roam. Hesson said he felt dogs should be able to run freely and that putting up a fence would not restrain his dogs.

* On June 11, Deputy Sheriff Huffer arrested John M. Henrie II, 48, Marietta, for violating the terms of a protection order. While his estranged wife was away from her home at 550 Rummer Road, Marietta, from June 3-8, Henrie stayed at the residence in violation of a protection order his wife has against him.

* Jessica Rose Deeter, 29, 26935 State Route 7 Apt. 6D, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Deeter arrested at the office of Probation Officer P. Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 11 at 4:03 p.m.

* Kenneth Ray Rogers, 26, 230 E. Faye Ave., Marietta, was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor. Rogers turned himself in at Marietta Municipal Court and was processed into the Washington County Jail on June 11 at 4:36 p.m.

* John Michael Henrie II, 48, 550 Rummer Road, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Henrie arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huffer and processed in the Washington County Jail on June 11 at 5:15 p.m.

MARIETTA – The following reports and charges were released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on June 9.

* On June 6, David Nolen, 66, 165 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta, reported during the past two months he believes an unknown suspect(s) tampered with the oil reservoir of his 2004 Ford pickup he has parked at his river lot at 299 Swift Road, Waterford.

* On June 6, Grace L. Decker, 73, 335 Old Beavertown Road, New Matamoras, reported after she purchased a package of meat from a door to door salesman she discovered a bottle of her son’s prescription of Vicodin was missing from a shelf in her living room.

* On June 7, Deputy Sheriff Hunter arrested a 13-year-old New Matamoras resident for delinquency by domestic violence. Following an argument with his foster parents, the teenager flew into a fit of rage, threw objects around the yard and knocked a flower box out of his foster mother’s hands, causing it to strike her in the head. The foster mother said the teenager has exhibited similar behavior in the past and she feared of what he is capable of in regard to inflicting harm on himself or on others.

* On June 7, Dale R. Huntsman, 56, 7585 Oakwood Drive, Seven Hills, Ohio, reported on three occasions since May 24 an unknown suspect(s) entered his hunting cabin at 2620 Pryor Glass Road, New Matamoras. Following the first two burglaries, which involved the theft of alcoholic beverages and scrap metal, Huntsman installed motion activated surveillance cameras. Through the security footage, Deputy Sheriff Hunter identified the suspects as Colton S. Longworth, 23, 33105 Old Camp Road, New Matamoras. Along with Sgt. Holbert, Deputy Hunter identified three other reports where hunting cabins were entered and alcohol and other miscellaneous items were stolen. Questioned about the incidents, Longworth admitted entering the cabins and stealing alcohol and other items because he did not have any money to purchase anything he needed for himself. Longworth also admitted stealing a rifle and ammunition from two cabins on Old Camp Road in New Matamoras. Hunter arrested Longworth on four felony counts of burglary, a felony count of theft and transported him to the Washington County Jail. Deputy Hunter recovered the stolen rifle and seized it as evidence.

* On June 8, Jeremy D. Barton, 34, 165 Coal Run Hill Road, Lowell, reported sometime between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. the previous evening an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole a collectible 16 gauge shotgun. Barton valued the shotgun at approximately $2,000.

* On June 8, Lewis M. Ayers, 64, 85 Hill St., Whipple, reported he parked a utility trailer loaded with scrap metal at the Wrangler Tavern on State Route 821 on June 6 and it has since been stolen.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on June 6.

* On June 4, Delbert G. Newlon, 68, 10775 State Route 550, Vincent, reported he recently discovered a wooden box containing a large amount of cash was stolen from a hidden location in his home. This case remains under investigation.

* On June 5, Sgt. Mankins and Deputy Sheriff McConnell investigated a report of a female who allegedly jumped out of a moving vehicle near 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking. Iris N. Blair, 26, 910 Ann St., Apt. 4, Parkersburg, was the passenger in a vehicle her boyfriend was driving and was upset that they did not leave earlier in the evening from a local bar, police said. Blair said she argued with her boyfriend and fearing the argument would escalate, she jumped from the car when the vehicle slowed near an intersection. Blair refused medical treatment at the scene but later went to the hospital as a precaution. No foul play is suspected.

* On June 5, the owners of two vehicles parking in the lot of the Dalzell Carry Out reported the driver of a silver pickup truck spun its tires in the lot and caused damage to the vehicles. Flying rocks shattered the rear window of a Mercury Villager owned by Pamela Kidder, 37, 255 Highland Ridge Road, Marietta, and damaged the paint on a Chevy Trailblazer owned by Carol Stumbo, 43, 30501 Lebanon Road, Lower Salem. Neither victim wished to pursue charges; they only wanted the driver to pay for the damage. Deputy Sheriff Carr contacted the alleged suspect and obtained his insurance information for Kidder and Stumbo.

* Joseph Benjamin Mayle, 30, 705 Ninth St., Marietta, for domestic violence, a felony. Mayle was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Bonnette of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Travis Eugene Sparks, 31, State Route 26, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of theft. Sparks was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Larry Allen Finkenbinder, 26, 3560 Corvair Drive, High Point, N.C., for driving under a suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Finkenbinder was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail.

MARIETTA – The following reports and charges were released June 5 by Washington County Sheriff’s Office:

* On June 3, Rose Murray, 54, 4805 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, reported she loaned her Sam’s Club credit card to her daughter so she could enter the store but did not give her permission to charge any purchases to the card. When she reviewed her statement, Murray discovered that while her daughter had the card she made 33 purchases totaling $1,546.84. This case remains under investigation.

* On June 3, Deputy Sheriff Hunter arrested Angie S. Riley, 49, 188 Main St. Lot 2, Lowell, for criminal damaging, domestic violence and unlawful restraint. Riley initiated an argument with her live-in boyfriend, Jeffery Riley, 51, because his work schedule does not allow him to spend time with her. Tired of arguing, Mr. Riley attempted to leave the home, at which point Ms. Riley grabbed him by the arms and wrapped her arms around him. Ms. Riley was in a fit of rage and scratched Mr. Riley while she tried to keep him from leaving. Mr. Riley eventually made it outside and into his vehicle, where Ms. Riley continued arguing and reached for anything inside the vehicle to keeping him from departing. Ms. Riley broke the vehicle’s turn signal in the process.

* On June 3, the owner of Reynolds Landscaping, 323 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered three of the company’s buildings. Stolen from inside the buildings were a chop saw, a chainsaw, a weed trimmer, two fishing poles, three gas cans, a window air conditioner, two rakes and three hoses. The total value of the stolen property is approximately $3,025.

* On May 29, Detective Smeeks issued a citation to Brandy M. Nutter, 34, 121 Gilman Ave. Apt. A, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license and for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired in April. Smeeks stopped Nutter on Putnam Street in Marietta.

* On May 29, Lt. Rhodes issued a citation to Michael D. Blind, 35, 1253 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for not wearing a seat belt. Blind was a passenger in a vehicle Rhodes stopped near the intersection of State Route 555 and Two Mile Run Road in Decatur Township.

* On May 31, in the parking lot of 4702 Milner Road, Waterford, the driver of an unknown vehicle struck the passenger side door of a Chevy pickup truck owned by Robert J. Wells, 1106 Hupp Road, Beverly. This caused moderate damage to Wells’s truck.

* On May 31, Deputy Sheriff McKee issued a citation to Logan C. Schwendeman, 18, 1060 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, for failure to obey a traffic control device. McKee stopped Venham after he failed to stop at a red light when turning from Sandhill Road onto Ohio 7 in Marietta Township.

* On May 31, Sgt. McLeish issued a citation to Samantha Flinn, 26, 13300 Copper Croft Run Apt. J, Blacksburg, Va., for traveling 84 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-77 in Aurelius Township.

* On May 31, Sgt. McLeish issued a citation to Dylan J. Hiller, 21, 10035 83rd Way North, Largo, Fla, for traveling 94 mph in a 70 mph zone on I-77 in Aurelius Township.

* On May 31, Toni J. Scott, 57, 1825 Rinard Mills Road, New Matamoras, reported during the past three days the driver of an unknown vehicle drove through the corner of her front yard.

* On May 31, the Warren Volunteer Fire Department transported Anthony A. Tornes, 81, 7619 Waterford Road, Marietta, to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment to injuries he suffered in an ATV accident. As Tornes ascended a hill on his property, the ATV rolled backward, causing a wooden box mounted on the front of the ATV to fall onto his face. Tornes suffered major head and eye trauma and a severed artery but was able to walk nearly half a mile to his residence to phone for help. * On June 1, Lt. Rhodes McLeish issued a citation to David A. Hart, 64, 7615 Clay Pike, Chandlersville, for not wearing a seat belt on I-77 in Muskingum Township.

* On June 1, Darth Stalnaker, 22, 521 44th St., Vienna, reported he recently discovered his Polaris utility vehicle was stolen from his brother’s residence at 270 E. Henniger Road, Lowell. The vehicle’s approximate value is $13,500.

* Michael Leroy McMannis, 52, 162 1/2 N. Seventh Street, Zanesville, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. McMannis was picked up at the Muskingum County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 30 at 12:37 p.m.

* Edna Elizabeth Hanes, 35, 105 Gilman Ave. Lot 8, Marietta, was arrested for two felony counts of trafficking in drugs and a misdemeanor charge of theft. Hanes was arrested in Marietta by Detective Mayle of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 30 at 4:24 p.m.

* Gernon Guy Earley Jr., 28, 509 Wirt St., Belpre, was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor. Earley was arrested by Deputy Sheriff McKee and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 30 at 11:48 p.m.

* Samuel Eric Leal, 34, 112 Scammel St. Apt. A, Marietta, was arrested for a felony charge of domestic violence and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint. Leal was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 1:18 a.m.

* Cory Ray Clark, 27, 717 Patterson Drive, Columbus, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and for criminal damaging, both misdemeanors. Clark was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 1:27 a.m.

* Dennis Allen Thomas, 41, 2740 Wilhelm Road, Chandlersville, Ohio, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Thomas was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 May 14 at 2:13 am.

* Charika Fana Pugh, 22, 7823 Hare Ave. Apt. 209, Jacksonville, Fla., was arrested for reckless operation, driving under a suspended license and speeding, all misdemeanors. Pugh was arrested in Macksburg by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 9:08 a.m.

* Shawn Benjamin Haga, 33, 512 Aurora St. Apt. A, Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Haga was arrested in Vincent by Deputy Sheriff McConnell and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 8:18 p.m.

* Casey Alexander Snyder, 29, 732 Braun Road, Belpre, was arrested for assault, a misdemeanor. Snyder turned himself in to corrections officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 8:27 p.m.

* Scott Allen Shankland, 44, 1641 Lincoln Heights, Pomeroy, was arrested for receiving stolen property and for violating the terms of his probation, both misdemeanors. Shankland was picked up in Gallia County and processed into the Washington County Jail on May 31 at 10:32 p.m.

* Jason Leroy Williams, 28, 732 Second St., Marietta, was arrested for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Williams was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Estes of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 1 at 6:11 a.m.

* Todd Daniel Weddle, 45, 710 Eighth St., Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence and child endangering, both misdemeanors. Weddle was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 1 at 1:05 p.m.

* Dana Michelle Steele, 30, 502 Wooster St., Marietta, was arrested for five felony counts of receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor charge of theft. Steele was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 1 at 4:55 p.m.

* William Joseph Saylor, 34, 502 Wooster St., Marietta, was arrested for five felony counts of complicity in receiving stolen property. Saylor was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 1 at 5:12 p.m.

* Joshua Mark Whitstine, 23, 127 Ward St., Marietta, was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Whitstine was arrested at the Lafayette Hotel by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 2 at 4:39 a.m.

* Andre Cornelius Jackson, 31, 26859 Baker St., Lewisville, Ohio, was arrested for driving under an FRA suspended license and speeding, both misdemeanors. Jackson was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on June 2 at 7:24 a.m.

MARIETTA – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports and charges on June 3:

* On June 1, Deputy Sheriff McConnell requested summonses for underage consumption of alcohol for the following suspects: Eric T. Crigger, 18, 3818 Liberty St. Apt. 1, Parkersburg; Joshua D. Clegg, 19, 2533 Highland Ridge Road, Lowell; Kyle A. Newhart, 20, 103 Hillside Way, Marietta; Raymond T. Ezell, 18, 347 East Pine St., Davisville, and Summar A. Yenawine, 18, 3 Christy Lane, Mineral Wells. Lt. Rhodes and Deputy McConnell investigated reports of cars parked along the road in the vicinity of 1835 McGill Road, Belpre. The address is the location of a vacant residence where Yenawine resided several years ago. Approximately 35 individuals were at the residence and the only suspects who were determined to have consumed alcohol were the five mentioned suspects and a 16-year-old Parkersburg resident. She was summonsed to Juvenile Court for being delinquent.

* On June 2, Deputy Sheriff Huffer issued a citation to Tasha Mitchell, 24, 3261 School House Road, Little Hocking, for driving under a suspended license. An employee of Par Mar at 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, Mitchell was moving her boyfriend’s vehicle from one parking stall to another when she accidentally pressed the car’s accelerator. The vehicle’s front end crashed through two windows on the side of the store and damaged the building structure underneath them. The incident caused moderate damage to the vehicle.

* On June 2, Deputy Sheriff Huffer issued a citation to Justin Schroeder, 32, 6235 Fifteenmile Creek Road, Wingett Run, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone and for driving under a suspended license on State Route 550 near milepost 10 in Barlow Township.

* On June 2, Deputy Sheriff Huffer issued a citation to Bryan Casey, 43, 3546 Dunfee Road, Coolville, for traveling 65 mph in a 45 mph zone on State Route 339 near milepost four in Dunham Township.

* On June 2, Charles E. Lightfritz, 55, 539 Rummer Road, Marietta, reported during the past week an unknown suspect(s) stole a 1950s Case model 800 farm tractor from his property at 553 Blue Knob Road, Marietta.

* On June 2, Deputy Sheriffs Ellenwood and McPeek responded to a domestic dispute on Veto Road in Vincent. One of the home’s residents reported that her live-in boyfriend was intoxicated and threatened her son. The teenager intervened when his mother’s boyfriend began calling her names, at which point the alleged suspect offered to let the teenager hit him. The deputies determined the incident was only verbal and that none of the parties feared for their safety.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail Monday and Tuesday:

* Shawn Paul Francis, 35, 307 Clay St., Sistersville, for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Francis was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Steven Douglas Fulton, 61, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Fulton was arrested on Quarry Street by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail.

* Kelly Jo Ross, 45, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Ross turned herself in to corrections officers and was processed into the Washington County Jail.
