Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases on July 30:

* Thomas Lostetter, 41, 7167 Pike Road, St. Marys, pleaded no contest to operating a vehicle without safety belts. He was assessed a $25 fine.

* William Polk, 29, 6917 Brentford Road, Sarasota, Fla., pleaded guilty to expired registration and was assessed $180.25 in court costs and fines.

* Mary James, 47, 56 Wyndham Knob, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to a charge of speeding 80 miles per hour in a 70 mph zone and was assessed $175.25 in court costs and fines.

* Scott Bush, 40, 47 Elm St., Davisville, was arraigned on the charges of driving while suspended or revoked and improper registration. He was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Lindsey Tibbs III, 42, 30 Berkshire Court, Washington, was dismissed without prejudice for a charge of battery after the alleged victim failed to appear for trial.

* Mark Tate II, 27, 1510 28th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to a charge of making, issuing a worthless check and was assessed $175.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay $60.75 in restitution.

* Mark Tate, 59, 1510 28th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to a charge of certificate of insurance and was assessed $370.25 in court costs and fines.

* Savannah Devore, 20, 1235 22nd St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to making false statements to an officer and was assessed $245.25 in court costs and fines.

* Ashley Danielle McPherson, 35, 104 Dye Circle, Marietta, pleaded guilty to a charge of shoplifting; she was assessed $195.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a $462.92 civil penalty to the victim.

* Susan Hendricks, 46, 1112 27th St., Vienna, was dismissed without prejudice on charges of disorderly conduct, obstruction, failure to render information and public intoxication after the arresting officer failed to appear.

* Robert Lester, 37, 1703 Spring St., Parkersburg, was dismissed without prejudice on a charge of violation of protective order after the alleged victim failed to appear.

* Joseph Cain, 32, 1002 23rd St. Apartment 3, was dismissed without prejudice on a charge a violation of a protective order after the alleged victim failed to appear.

* Shawn Furner, 27, 1115 Homewood Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful injury or destruction of property. He was sentenced to 45 days of unsupervised probation, assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay $500 in restitution to the victim.

* Christopher Flynn, 34, 1315 Clyde St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while revoked for DUI and a second offense DUI. He was sentenced to seven months home confinement and assessed $495.50 in court costs and fines.

* Astina McCartney, 19, 807 1/2 Virginia Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of compulsory education offenses and was assessed $220.25 in court costs and fines.

* Anthony Bailey, 46, 1030 Market St., Apartment 301, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a third count of shoplifting. He was assessed $390.50 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay $317.07 in restitution to the victim.

* Kenneth Deem III, 45, of Belleville, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and unlawful restraint. He was released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Tammy Backus, 47, 16b Highland Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of trespassing and obstruction. She was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* April Rogers, 43, 459 West Main St., Spencer, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and obstruction. As part of a plea agreement, she was dismissed on a charge of transportation of prohibited items onto grounds of a jail, correctional facility or detention center. She was sentenced to one year probation, one year at the Day Reporting Center and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Aaron Lewis, 22, 41414 Sycamore Drive, Canton, Mich., had his preliminary hearing waived on two counts of manufacturing, delivering or possession with intent to manufacturing, deliver a controlled substance. His case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Amanda Dickerson, 35, 835 8th St., Parkersburg, waived her preliminary hearing on a charge of grand larceny and her case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.
