Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases on June 5.

* Joshua Lell, 37, 203 Armstrong Ave., Williamstown, was given a guilty verdict for sexual abuse in the second degree after inappropriately touching a client, of which he was a caretaker of, and making inappropriate comments, according to the criminal complaint. He was sentenced to unsupervised probation for one year. He was assessed $309.03 in court costs and fines.

* Kenneth Holbert, 40, 910 30th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on the charge of malicious wounding after allegedly striking victim Kenneth Vest with a wooden bat in the back of the head multiple times, causing him to lose consciousness. He was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $200,000 surety bond.

* Derek Gault, 27, 2304 Brunswick Court, Morgantown, pleaded guilty to driving while suspended and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on the charges of improper registration and no insurance. He was assessed $270.25 in court costs and fines.

* Howard Myers, 58, 1615 1/2 Beaver St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving while suspended or revoked and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of driving while revoked for DUI; he was assessed $270.25 in court costs and fines.

* Thomas Dickel, 42, 813 Hughes St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on another charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; he was sentenced to one year probation and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Nathan Simmons, 45, 3030 Lost Pavement Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, heroin, and obstruction; he was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond.

* William Tanner, 22, 575 Leachtown Lane, Walker, was arraigned on a charge of driving while suspended and DUI and was released on a $700 surety bond.

* Kevin Byrd, 33, 1489 Silver Run Road, Cairo, had his preliminary hearing waived on the charges of possession with intent to deliver and two counts of manufacturing, delivering or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, Fentanyl and methamphetamine. His case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Angelo Martinovitch, 42, 1704 1/2 20th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent exposure and was sentenced to time served and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Brian Goodnight, 48, Fifth Street, Salvation Army, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of trespassing. He was sentenced to time served and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Olivia Jenkins, 22, 647 Wood St. Apartment Two, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting and was assessed $370.50 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a civil penalty of $88.06 to the first victim and $91.24 to the second victim.

* Jason Dickel, 38, 1722 Eli Locust Road, Washington, was arraigned on a charge of destruction of property and released on a $3,000 10 percent cash bond.

* Angela Dennis, 48, 1003 Virginia Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to petty larceny; she was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation with credit for 90 days, ordered to pay $1,149 in restitution and assessed $170.25 in court costs and fines.

* Thomas Malone, 40, 1205 Wilbur St., Apartment 8, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving while suspended a third offense and was sentenced to 30 days on home confinement and assessed $320.25 and court costs and fines.

* David Sprouse, 39, 128 Oak Tree Drive, Parkersburg, was dismissed on a charge of no proof of insurance.

* Christina White, 27, 25686 Staunton Turnpike, Smithville, was arraigned on a charge of driving while suspended or revoked and fraudulent motor vehicle inspection and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Worthy Owen Davis, 40, 614 30th St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to the charge of public intoxication and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on three counts of public intoxication, a charge of disorderly conduct and a charge of trespassing. He was assessed $175.25 in court costs and fines.

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were handled in Wood County Magistrate Court Thursday:

* Albert Ellis, 28, 1205 Wilbur St. – Apt. 14, Parkersburg, had probation dismissed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to six months in jail and fined $106.25.

* Jacob D. Roberts, 22, 2051 Homewod Road, Parkersburg, was released on $500 bond on a battery charge.

* Eric Lane, 50, 4102 16th Ave., Parkersburg, was released on $2,000 bond for two counts of violation of a protective order.

* Gregory S. Jarves, 35, 425 59th St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to speeding and fined $180.25.

* Paul F. Larsen, 56, 904 49th St., Vienna, had a charge of possession with intent to deliver heroin bound over to the Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Kevin M. Lohoefener, 33, 403A 13th St., Parkersburg was held on $6,000 bail for a third offense of violating a protective order.

* Phillip Joseph Knittel, 56, 1312 Avery St. – Apt. 2, Parkersburg, was held on $210,000 bail for possession with intent to deliver heroin and fraudulent use of an access device. He was already out on a felony bond and has a preliminary hearing in magistrate court on June 14.

* Brandon Michael Smith, 32, 13 Joyce Drive, Parkersburg, was released on $6,000 bond for second-offense driving on a suspended license, having no proof of insurance, driving on a suspended license for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and having no proof of insurance.

* Max Eugene Lassiter, 51, 1115 Gillman Ave., Marietta, had charges dismissed for failure to make registration changes. He is now in compliance.

* Brandon Kiewon Girvera, 1900 27th St. – Apt. H, Parkersburg, had a charge of fleeing dismissed as the officer did not appear in court.

* Brenda Sue Bailey, 53, 1030 Market St., Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to driving on a suspended license and fined $460.50.

* Quinn Mitchell Tennant, 28, 503 Meldahl Road, Washington, had a charge of first-offense domestic battery dismissed.

* Kaylee Ann Madison, 29, 151 Chateau Hills, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license, non-DUI and fined $207.25.

* Kenneth Lester Rockhold III, 33, 408 32nd St., Vienna, pleaded guilty to driving on a suspended license and fined $270.25.

* Jason Dale Johns, 35, 5971 Elizabeth Pike, Elizabeth, pleaded guilty to violating a protective order. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail which was suspended and he was placed on one year of unsupervised probation. He was fined $170.25.

* Waylon McCune, 45, 515 Main St., Belpre, had a charge dismissed for violating a protective order.

* Sam Christopher Womack, 2607 Division St. Ext., Parkersburg, had a charge of possession of a controlled substance dismissed.

* George Edward Fonner, 50, 1 Camelot Drive-Apt. 15, Parkersburg, had a charge of violating a protective order dismissed.

* Brian K. Riel, 50, 1911 Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, had a charge of third-offense driving on a suspended license dismissed.

* Lonnie Nichole Lawson, 41, 2311 Pike St.-Trailer 6, Parkersburg, had a charge of second-offense shoplifting dismissed.

* Travis Shane McCune II, 19, 807 38th St., Vienna, had a charge of obstruction dismissed.

* Kendra Denee Gump, 28, P.O. Box 253, Harrisville, pleaded guilty to having no proof of insurance and fined $370.25. Charges of shoplifting and driving on a suspended license were dismissed.
