Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases April 11 and 12:

* Shane Wigal, 35, Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of violation of a protective order, domestic battery and receiving or transferring stolen goods and was released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Jason Pearson, 22, 413 Eighth St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of shoplifting and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of trespassing. He was assessed $195.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a civil penalty of $50 to the victim.

* Phillip Joseph Knittel, 55, 1312 Avery St., Apartment 2, Parkersburg, waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of manufacturing, delivering, transporting or possession of fentanyl. His case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* James Lee Hall, 40, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of domestic battery, driving while revoked for DUI and providing false information. He was released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Kenneth James Moore, 41, 1851 Seventh St., Parkersburg, waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of burglary, and his case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Joseph Hescht, 38, 749 Mary St., Belpre, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and violation of a protective order. As part of a plea agreement, he was dismissed on one charge of violation of a protective order and was sentenced to one year probation, six months of day report center and assessed $570.50 in court costs and fines.

* Shania Leann Fischer, 19, 2121 Seventh St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of shoplifting and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of obstruction. She was assessed $175.25 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay a $79.98 civil penalty to the victim.

* Scott Bush, 39, 47 Elm St., Davisville, pleaded guilty to having a bow and gun in the woods at the same time and no photo ID. He was assessed $360.50 in court costs and fines.

* Dezarie Manzanedo, 25, 2510 39th St., Apartment 3C, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and disorderly conduct and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of obstruction. She was assessed $335.50 in court costs and fines and ordered to pay $168.23 in restitution.

* Benjamin Carpenter, 24, 811 Dickle Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting, was assessed $195.25 in court costs and fines and was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $500.88 to the victim.

* Dennis Hutton II, 32, 2021 Valley Road, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Christopher Runyon, 38, 167 Mate Creek Road, Matewan, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, was sentenced to one year of unsuprvised probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Ashley Carpenter, 26, 907 Neil St., Apartment 3, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of obstruction and was released on a $500 surety bond.

* Richard Carter, 29, 907 Neil St., Apartment 3, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of obstruction and was released on a $500 surety bond.

* Dwayne Louis Veltschy, 40, 510 South Fourth Ave., Paden City, waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of escaping from custody. His case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Robin Louise Scott, 35, number 5 Wharton Drive, Parkersburg, waived her preliminary hearing on a charge of grand larceny. Her case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Charles Richards, 44, 1709 23rd St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving while revoked for DUI and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Harry Swager, 67, 1725 Latrobe St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to shoplifting, was assessed $260.25 in court costs and fines and was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $708.84 to the victim.

* Dezzirae Brown, 25, 557 Sixth St., Apartment 7, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of destruction of property and was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Katelynn Nicole Gates, 28, 1174 Butcher Bend Road, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a charge of shoplifting and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
