Wood Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG – Two hearings took place in Wood County Circuit Court Friday.

* Mary Elizabeth Curran, 29, 1607 Beaver St., Parkersburg, was sentenced after she entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, heroin. She was sentenced to one to 15 years in prison suspended for three year probation with a requirement she participate in substance abuse counseling. She also may serve up to 45 days in jail at the discretion of her probation officer.

* John Dean Alfstad, 38, 376 Dublin Ave., Apt. 12, Mineral Wells, was granted a motion for his trial to be moved to the May court term and a new trial date was set for June 24. The reason given for the continuance was a psychological evaluation has been set for 10 a.m. April 15, the original trial date. Alfstad was indicted by the January 2014 grand jury on charges of second-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault.

Wood Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG – Three pleas were heard Wednesday in Wood County Circuit Court.

* Myron A. Pringle, 37, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement with the state to plead guilty to grand larceny as charged by the January 2014 grand jury. Judge Robert Waters referred Pringle to probation for a presentencing investigation and his sentencing was set for 9 a.m. June 12.

* Michael Robert Butcher, 59, 1009 Kemper St., Parkersburg, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a charge of conspiracy to operate or attempt to operate a clandestine drug laboratory as charged by the January 2014 grand jury. Waters referred Butcher to probation for a presentencing investigation and his sentencing was set for 1:15 p.m. June 12. He was granted a motion to allow him to remain on bond to await sentencing.

* Joseph DeWayne Lemon, 25, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, entered a plea agreement to plead guilty to a charge of breaking and entering and petit larceny, a lesser included offense to grand larceny as charged by the January 2014 grand jury. Waters set sentencing for 9 a.m. June 9.

Wood Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG – The following case was heard in Wood County Circuit Court on April 7:

* Stephanie P. McIntyre, 39, of Parkersburg was sentenced to two to 10 years in prison on a charge of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

She received credit for time served and was assessed court fees and restitution.

McIntyre was indicted Sept. 11 on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory. She pleaded guilty to the drug lab charge on Feb. 3.
