Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were heard in Wood County Circuit Court on Monday.

* Tyler Zane Morrison, 22, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was arraigned before Judge Robert Waters and pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-offense possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one count of keeping or maintaining a dwelling for the keeping of a controlled substance. His trial was set for April 30.

* Clayton Arthur Fleak, 25, in custody at the regional jail, was ordered to attend an inpatient substance abuse treatment program for a minimum of six months after Waters found Fleak had violated the terms of his probation on charges of delivery of a controlled substance. A defense motion for home confinement was denied, and Fleak will remain in custody until a bed is available.

* Courtney J. Simon, 33, of Charleston, pleaded guilty to burglary. Judge Jason Wharton deferred her sentence until she completes a treatment program. Charges of burglary, breaking and entering and unlawful entry were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

* The sentencing for Emily Mariah Lutz, 24, of Davisville, on charges of conspiracy to commit breaking and entering and petit larceny was also deferred by Wharton, pending completion of a treatment program.

Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court heard the following cases on Feb. 12.

* Tyler Sean Garner, 22, 449 Barnstable Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on the charges of no insurance and improper registration and was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Hannah Brooke Taylor, 21, 1519 Dutch Ridge Road, was given a deferred sentence on the charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana, and was sentenced to six months probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Matthew David Sadler, 31, 24 Wyndham Knob, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to the charges of shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana. As part of a plea agreement he was dismissed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Brandon Lott, 33, 2201 Meadowview Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on four counts of fraudulent use of an access device and was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 surety bond.

* Kent Morgan Harshbarger, 60, 2507 Nash St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on the charges of violation of a protective order, destruction of property and burglary. He was being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $12,000 surety bond.

* Paul Edward Bibbee, 53, 2133 16th St., Parkersburg, had his preliminary hearing waived for three counts of failure to register. His case has been bound over to Wood County Circuit Court for grand jury consideration.

* Michael Shane George, 33, 1011 Terrace Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty on a charge of obstruction and was assessed $210.25 in court costs and fines.

* Robert Rubel, 39, Salem, pleaded guilty on a charge of domestic battery and destruction of property. As part of a plea agreement he was dismissed on a charge of obstruction. He was assessed $370.50 in court costs and fines.

* Brian Keith Real, 50, 1911 Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of public intoxication. He was sentenced to 90 days probation and assessed $210.25 in court costs and fines.

* Ross Blaine Hughes, 21, 616 Conrad Hill Road, Cottageville, was given a deferred sentence on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana, and was sentenced to six months probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Allen James Hayes, 19, 820 Market St., Parkersburg, was given a deferred sentence on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, marijuana, and was sentenced to six months probation and assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Tyler Michael Ludwig, 30, 400 Walnut Grove, Washington, pleaded guilty to a charge of fleeing from an officer and as part of a plea agreement was dismissed on a charge of joyriding. He was sentenced to unsupervised probation for 30 days and assessed $210.25 in court costs and fines.

* Kaula Maria McVay, 30, 1946 Princeton St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting and was assessed $360.50 in court costs and fines. She was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $206 to Walmart and $641.96 to Kohl’s.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — The following warrants were processed at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office between Feb. 8 and 12:

* Leslie S. Klein, 32235 Minersville Hill Road, Racine, Ohio, failure to appear on a child support case.

* Dakota Wayne Williams, 809 Lee St., Belpre, failure to appear on a child support case.

* Noel K. Metz, 1441 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, failure to register dogs.

* Brian Keith Edgar, 27400 SR 7, Park 3, Lot 80, Marietta, probation violation on unauthorized use of motor vehicle charge.

* Amy Marie Leedy, 9550 SR 550, Vincent, tampering with evidence.

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Feb. 8 and 12:

* Ryan Cayce Beardsley, 25, homeless, public indecency and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.

* Jaced Lee Jeffries, 18, homeless, safecracking, theft of a firearm, both felonies, obstructing official business, possess a defaced firearm and probation violation, misdemeanors.

* Randall Dow Forinash, 51, homeless, possessing drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.

* Matthew Gene Schafer, 39, Sierra Apts. Apt. 18, Marietta, probation violation, a felony.

* Jennifer Kay Slone, 35, 411 Pennock Drive, Apt. D1, Beverly, parole violation, a felony.

* Jeremy Michael Phipps, age unavailable, 10 Browns Road, Apt. 4A, Marietta, public indecency and probation violation, both misdemeanors.

* Steven Lee Sayre, 35, 1940 State Route 555, Little Hocking, violation of a protection order and probation violation, both misdemeanors.

* Kaylyn Paige Cottrell, 27, 1940 State Route 555, Little Hocking, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

* Aaron Matthew Brown, 37, 101 Randolph Road, Marietta, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

* Andrew Joe Lucas, 4875 Rainbow Road, Lowell, failure to appear on a child support case.

* Christopher Adam Sciance, 28, homeless, contempt of court and possessing drug abuse instruments, misdemeanors.

* Uriah Matthew Hill, 43, homeless, violate protection order, a misdemeanor.

* Ricky Joseph Antill II, 34, 41900 Joe Schafer Road, Caldwell, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no seatbelt, and contempt of court, all misdemeanors.

* Moriah Eligh Yencha, 25, 102 Brentwood Drive, Parkersburg, possession of drugs, a felony.

* Gary Dean Beagle Jr., 34, 1208 Park Ave., New Matamoras, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

* Brittany Marie Wheeler, 28, 100 Belaire Drive, Marietta, probation violation, a felony.

* Kyle Gregory Herwald, 31, 4616 Federal Road, Coolville, on a warrant for driving under OVI suspension, a misdemeanor.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS — Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Feb. 12.

Feb. 8

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report in reference to a stolen cell phone. The complainant advised that he believed it was a friend from Glouster that took the phone. This case is still under investigation.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of theft from the Carr Bailey Road area of Millfield. A cub cadet push mower with an electric start, a bicycle and 25-gallon propane cylinder were reported stolen. This case is under investigation.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of identity theft from an internet web site account. The caller said the bank was also advised of the identity theft. A report of this incident was filed.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Crestview Drive in The Plains for a report of harassment. Deputies spoke with the complainant who advised her neighbor was harassing her daughter. Deputies attempted to make contact with the male and were unsuccessful. A business card with contact information was left for the male to call in. This incident will be documented.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with checking a vehicle that was stranded in floodwaters on State Route 13 in Chauncey. Deputies observed the vehicle and were able to safely wade to it and found no persons inside. The vehicle was off the roadway and in a ditch and will not be able to be towed out until the waters recede.

Feb. 9

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to State Route 550 in Athens for a prowler complaint. Deputies arrived on scene and located a male on the porch of the residence. The male was an ex-boyfriend of the resident and showed up unannounced. The male was asked to leave.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was advised by ODNR they were out with a male subject in Meigs County that had an active arrest warrant out of Athens Municipal Court. ODNR transported the prisoner to the county line, where he was turned over to deputies and transported to the SEORJ.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Rural Women’s Recovery and Rehabilitation for a report of a female causing a disturbance at the nurse’s office. Once on scene, the responding deputy spoke with both the female in question and the nurse. It was determined that the female had swiped a pitcher of water off of the counter top in the nurse’s office in a fit of anger and the pitcher hit the nurse’s leg, causing bruising. Janice McSweeney was arrested for assault and transported to SEORJ.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to Gun Club Road in New Marshfield for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle and a vehicle crash. The caller stated her vehicle had been stolen and she crashed while looking for it. The vehicle was found at the residence it was supposed to be at and due to the nature of the vehicle crash, the caller was advised to come to the Sheriff’s Office to file a report when she is able.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office and NPD were dispatched to Wolfe Bennett Road after an injured female was located near the city limits shortly after 10 p.m. The female was transported by EMS to OMH and later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. During the investigation, Dustin Midkiff, who identified himself as the female’s husband, was taken into custody and interviewed. Midkiff, 36, of Athens, was charged with felonious assault and transported to SEORJ.

Feb. 10

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a breaking and entering to a garage on Sycamore Street in Chauncey. The complainant advised that an air compressor had been taken from his garage at an unknown date and time. He said the air compressor was faded red in color. At this time, with no leads as to who the suspect is and there not being any possible locations for the stolen items, this case will be closed unless further evidence is discovered.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Johnson Road for a reported hit-skip accident. Deputies arrived and spoke with the complainant and began photographing the vehicle’s damage. Before deputies cleared the scene, the suspect arrived and spoke with deputies. Photographs were also taken of the vehicle, and a report was filed.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Nelsonville FD responded to a traffic accident on Route 33 near the Burr Oak Boulevard overpass. It was found to be a non-injury accident. Nelsonville FD remained on scene with the vehicle and its occupants.

Feb. 11

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a resident of Twelfth Street in Buchtel advising that after 8 p.m. on Feb. 10 his 2003 Chevy Trailblazer was stolen. The vehicle was described as green with a gold hood, primer paint on the rocker panels, and a two-foot light bar on the front bumper. If anyone sees this vehicle or has information on the theft, contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office reported that Loressa Sadler, 57, of Nelsonville was arrested on an active Athens Municipal Court warrant. Sadler was transported to the Sheriff’s Office then taken to court.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 56 in New Marshfield for a report of a male walking in the roadway. Deputies arrived in the area and met with the male who was claiming that unknown people were chasing him. Deputies transported the male to O’Bleness Hospital for an evaluation.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a syringe was located along a Carr Road residence. A deputy was dispatched, and the syringe was collected for destruction.

Vienna Police

VIENNA — Vienna Police Department released the following reports Feb. 11:

* Paul F. Larsen of Vienna was arrested Jan. 27 on a charge of possession of heroin.

* Christopher P. Smith of Parkersburg was arrested Jan. 30 on a charge of third-offense shoplifting and a fugitive from justice count. * Sandra M. Hammond of Parkersburg was cited Feb. 6 for obstructing and first-offense shoplifting.

* Thomas H. Bailey of Vienna was arrested on a fleeing warrant.

* Gabrielle E. Rhoton of Coolville was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge.

* Michael D. Barton of Parkersburg was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.

* Alaina M. Rader of Parkersburg was cited for second-offense shoplifting.
