Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court released the following reports Nov. 19:

* Denise Ranae Parker, 44, of 1613 15th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of shoplifting and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Eric Raber Wade, 56, of 896 Dry Run Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of petit larceny and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Brittany Lynn Robey, 30, of 3602 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Max Eugene Lassiter, 51, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic assault and bond was set at $5,000.

* Desteny L. DeSelms, 22, of 17 Millbrook Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana; driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous; and expired registration and was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Clark Edwin Westbrook, 31, of 2220 Federal Road, Little Hocking, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Bradley Scott Helmick, 39, of 700 29th St., Apt. 46, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of assault of a police officer and obstructing and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Sheena Marie Davis, 56, of 1448 Fourth Ave., Apt. 4D, Parkersburg, was arraigned on three counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count each of failure to appear and driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* James Charles Bonnett, 28, of 1320 Broadway Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstructing, assault of a police officer, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and failure to render fingerprints and was released on a $3,000 surety bond.

* Kaitlyn Eileen Collins, 22, of 65 Captain Ames Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of aggravated driving under the influence and speeding and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Christian Alexander Coss, 23, of 613 17th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of first-offense DUI, failure to maintain control, no operator’s license and reckless operation of a motor vehicle and released on a $5,000 bond.

* Caleb Evan Vincent, 22, of 1440 Roddy Road, Vincent, was arraigned on two counts of trespassing and one count of battery and bond was set at $5,000 surety. A charge of breaking and entering of a vehicle was dismissed to be recharged as a misdemeanor.

* Angelo Thomas Martinovich, 42, of 1205 Wilbur St., Apt. 10, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Ruth Ester Stewart, 37, of Murrysville, Pa., was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $4,000 personal recognizance bond. She was later arraigned on a second domestic battery charge and her bond was set at $5,000 bond.

* Gregory Michael Wilson, 56, of 80 Hayes St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense DUI and released on a $2,500 bond.

* Bobbie Scritchfield, 24, of 67 Friar Tuck Road, Belleville, was arraigned on a charge of uttering and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

* Julie Marie Hall, 50, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of domestic battery and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

* Brooke Ann Oldfield, 38, of 39 Westview Way, Parkersburg, was bound over to Wood County Circuit Court on a fugitive from justice charge out of Monroe County, Ohio.

* Sabrina Nicole Sigley, 24, of 1811 Clegg St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to maintaining a dwelling for the use, keeping or selling of controlled substances and was sentenced to one year in jail, suspended for one year probation and six months with the Day Report Center.

* Two counts of driving on a license revoked for DUI and one count each of fleeing, improper registration, no registration, no insurance, failure to maintain control and failure to report an accident were dismissed against the late Michael Carmet Ayers, 58, of Parkersburg.

* A motion to revoke the home confinement of Corey Frank Bonar, 31, of 447 Rannis Road, Belleville, was denied, and he was placed back on home confinement.

* A charge of no proof of insurance against Tyler Jordan Stevens, 22, of 2864 McGraw Run Road, Sandyville, was dismissed.

* A charge of no proof of insurance against Kerri Lynn Lauer, 36, of 144 Remington Drive, Rockport, was dismissed after proof was shown.

* Melissa Dawn Milam, 44, of 2845 Dupont Road, Parkersburg, pleaded no contest to speeding and expired registration and was assessed $350.50 in fines and court costs. A charge of no proof of insurance was dismissed after proof was shown.

* Samantha Jo Knotts, 23, of 7735 Cisco Road, Petroleum, was arraigned on a charge of aggravated DUI and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* James Patrick Bruce, 33, of 1409 Andrew St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of first-offense driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous, improper registration, no proof of insurance, defective equipment and no motor vehicle inspection and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* James Edward Snow, 37, of 150 Beaver St., Coal City, W.Va., pleaded guilty to driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court costs. A charge of destruction of property was dismissed.

* Dale Patrick Wright, 19, of 1202 Swann St., Parkersburg waived a preliminary hearing on charges of delivery of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit delivery of a controlled substance. The case was bound over to Circuit Court.

* A charge of domestic battery was dismissed without prejudice against Tonda Kay Montgomery, 25, of Mineral Wells, because the victim did not wish to pursue it.

* Matthew Joseph Hunter, 44, of 362 Wilbur Lane, Alma, pleaded no contest to shoplifting and was assessed $235.25 in fines, court costs and restitution.

* Charges of public intoxication, obstructing and fleeing were dismissed without prejudice against Edward Martin Cranfield Jr., 41, of 1015 Moore Ave., Parkersburg, after the officer failed to appear.

* Charges of driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and illegal registration were dismissed without prejudice against Jacob Christopher Bennett, 28, of 1340 Lynn St., Parkersburg, after the officer failed to appear.

* Charges of driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and fleeing were dismissed without prejudice against Richard Lee Treadway, 42, of 1333 Lynn St., Parkersburg, after the officer failed to appear.

* A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed without prejudice against Kyle Jordan Hendershot, 28, of 281 Dempsie Ave., Parkersburg, after the officer failed to appear.

* Cassandra Marie Walcutt, 20, of 115 Jordyn Lane, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* A charge of violation of a protection order was dismissed against Juan Weaver, 44, of Vienna, because the state no longer wanted to pursue it.

* A charge of false pretenses was dismissed against Omar Lamont Lee, 50, of 1807 Beechwood Drive, South Charleston, because the state no longer wished to pursue it.

* Charges of no proof of insurance and expired registration were dismissed against Jason Hardman, 41, of 2177 Love Hill Road, Waverly, after he showed proof of the insurance and renewed his registration.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports on Nov. 15.

Nov.14

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office assisted ODNR in locating a vehicle on Warner Road that may have been related to illegal hunting activity. Deputies located the vehicle for ODNR who arrived on scene a short time later.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office located John Chesser, 42, who was arrested on two active warrants out of Athens Municipal Court. Chesser was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was eventually taken to court and released.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report on Radford Road of property damage from an unknown vehicle that had driven off of the road and had struck two mailboxes. Photographs of the damage done to the property were taken.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Circle Drive on a domestic dispute. Once on scene, deputies located the male who was reported to be breaking items in the residence. It was discovered that the male, Mathew Stover, 36, had a warrant for his arrest and when deputies tried to place him under arrest, he became combative and resisted arrest, but deputies were able to get him under control. After he was searched, he attempted to flee from units but was immediately apprehended. He was transported to SEORJ for the warrant and is also being charged with resisting arrest.

* The Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report from Spreading Oaks Village. The caller stated sometime throughout the night someone entered his girlfriend’s vehicle and took a set of Beats headphones and a credit card. This case in under investigation.

ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Nov. 19:

* On Nov. 18, the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 33 for a signal violation. During the traffic stop, an odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. Consent to search passengers yielded suspected narcotics. The items were seized and are being sent to a lab for testing. An additional search was conducted of the vehicle, however no further drugs were located. Charges for possession of drugs are expected for grand jury at a later time. The driver of the vehicle stated that the odor was probably coming from their clothes as the day prior, had smoked marijuana.

* On Nov. 16, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Koches Road on a possible breaking and entering. Upon arriving on scene, deputies found that the residence was entered. It is unknown if any items were taken. Deputies were unable to locate an owner of the residence, they then secured the residence.

* On Nov. 16, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 685 and made contact with Gavin Smathers in reference to an active warrant. During a search of his person’s an item was located that was sent to BCI for testing. Smathers, 28, was taken into custody and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail without incident. Additional charges are pending.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Perry Ridge Road for a burglary report. The caller advised they had gone over to their neighbor’s house to visit. When they returned a short time later, they discovered someone had entered their unlocked front door and taken a Poulan chainsaw from the residence. If anyone has information in regard to this incident, they are asked to please contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from West Second Street in reference to their trash being dumped out in the yard and numerous items thrown about. A report was completed at that time.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of illegal use of credit cards from a resident on Wolfe Bennett Road. The cards were used without the owner’s consent or knowledge at the time. This matter is currently under investigation.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cameron Road in reference to a mailbox and a post that were damaged sometime overnight. A report was taken.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of stolen gift cards from Jacobs Avenue. Deputies spoke with the complainant and gathered information in regards to the theft at that time. This matter is currently under investigation.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a theft from a motor vehicle on Frost Road at the boat ramp. The male advised that while he was in town his ball hitch and truck toolbox were stolen. Photos were taken of the truck and the area was patrolled.

* On Nov. 17, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Wooten Road for a report of a vehicle break-in. The caller advised that his daughter observed someone inside his vehicle. He also advised that nothing was taken from the vehicle. The complainant said that he just wanted to make ACSO aware of the incident. No further action needed at this time.

* On Nov. 18, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of 2 vehicles being damaged on Crestview Drive. Both vehicles had been damaged while they were parked outside the complainant’s residence. This matter is currently under investigation.

Belpre Police

The Belpre Police Department released the following reports on Nov. 19:

On Nov. 10, Michael J. Cleveland, 27, Waterford, was cited for driving under suspension/failure to reinstate and for fictitious license plates.

On Nov. 10, Jonathan W. Fletcher, 28, Ravenswood, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Nov. 11, Paul M. Chen, 50, Belpre, was cited for driving without a license.

On Nov. 12, Barry R. Robinson, 19, Belpre, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in Belpre Mayor’s Court on a charge of possession of marijuana.

On Nov. 12, Eric D. Dearth, 48, Vincent, was cited for failing to yield when entering the roadway.

On Nov. 13, Joseph A. Perry, 27, Belpre, was cited for not maintaining an assured clear distance ahead.

On Nov. 15, Daniel J. Murphy, 38, Long Bottom, was arrested for OVI, driving under suspension and expired registration.

On Nov. 15, Justin O. Willis, 35, Huron, Ohio, was arrested for obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

On Nov. 15, Andrew A. Crites, 37, Belpre, was arrested for warrants out of Washington County for failure to appear and breach of recognizance. Crites also was charged with obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Nov. 16, William E. Crothers, 39, Parkersburg, was cited for driving under suspension, fictitious license plates, expired registration, no operable rear plate light and driving an unsafe vehicle.

On Nov. 16, Travis L. Cunningham, 34, Malta, was arrested on a felony warrant for violating parole and was taken to the Washington County Jail.

On Nov. 17, Edward L. Parsons, 26, Belpre, was arrested for disorderly conduct, failing to cease and desist. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.

On Nov. 17, Craig N. Echard, 53, Little Hocking, was cited for expired registration.
