Circuit Court

PARKERSBURG — The following cases were heard by Judge J.D. Beane in Wood County Circuit Court on Nov. 13.

* Joshua Allen Chipps, 28, 606 Fourth Ave., Parkersburg, was found guilty of entering without breaking and sentenced to one to 10 years with 93 days credit at the West Virginia Department of Corrections. He was given a suspended sentence of three years probation and ordered to pay restitution of $1,000 to the victim.

* Jason Story, 38, 16 Meadowview Circle, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to child neglect creating the risk of serious injury, a misdemeanor, and robbery in the second degree. His sentencing will be on Jan. 18, 2019 at 9 a.m.

* Paula McDonald, 65, 511 Happy Valley Lane, Parkersburg, had previously been found guilty to driving under the influence a second or subsequent offense, and sentenced to one year with credit for two days at the North Central Regional Jail to be served on home confinement. The motion for a change in sentencing to serve six months rather than a year was granted by the court.

* Melissa Maria Stevens, 40, in custody, is being held on two charges of possession with intent to deliver, methamphetamine and cocaine, on a $200,000 bond. She made a motion for a bond reduction and it was denied by the court.

Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — Wood County Magistrate Court released the following reports Nov. 13:

* Juan Carlos Weaver, 44, of 518 25th St., Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of violation of a protective order and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Amanda Nichole Lohr, 37, of 5644 Wadesville Road, Belleville, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense shoplifting and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Tommie Jeanice Williams, aka Tommie J. Archer, 42, of Reno, Ohio, was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, third-offense driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and failure to obey a traffic control device and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* David Milton Bennett, 39, of 318 Grieves Run Road, Elizabeth, was arraigned on charges of possession of a controlled substance, no vehicle registration, no vehicle insurance, driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident and was released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Leonard Ray Dawson, 63, of 316 Birnham Wood Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of first-offense DUI and driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and released on a $1,000 bond.

* William Joseph Kerns, 34, of 1046 Murdoch Ave., Apt. 4, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny and held on a $20,000 surety bond.

* Hunter Triphers Piatt, 27, of 749 Mary St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of petit larceny and released on a $2,000 bond.

* Michael D. Carpenter, 43, of Edgelawn Campground Lot 8, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of third-offense driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and a parking violation and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Brian Joseph Frame, 31, of 72 Cows Run Road, Elizabeth, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Phillip Michael Parsons, 31, of 236 Hummingbird Lane, Ripley, was arraigned on two shoplifting charges and one count of possession of a controlled substance and was released on a $700 personal recognizance bond.

* William Henry Trussell II, 32, of 4446 18th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of delivery of a controlled susbstance and one count each of possession of a controlled substance, obstructing and fleeing and held on a $24,500 bond.

* George Deane Carpenter, 50, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of domestic battery and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Natasha Marie Salyer, 28, of 3569 Veto Road, Vincent, was arraigned on charges of trespassing, shoplifting and fugitive from justice and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Hannah Alexis Davis, 19, of 1123 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of leaving the scene of an accident, no operator’s license and failure to maintain control and was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* John Vincent Croft, 62, of 1909 36th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of transferring/receiving stolen property and driving on a license revoked for DUI and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Dennis Ray Mott, 38, of 81 Strimer Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of false information and third-offense driving on a license suspended for miscellaneous and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Korttney Kristina Wallace-Martin, 22, P.O. Box 514, Hockingport, was arraigned on a charge of violating a protection order and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Emily Nicole Dunn, 22, of 513 Caroline St., Williamstown, was arraigned on a charge of third-offense driving on a license revoked for DUI and held on a $3,500 surety bond.

* Makayla Dawn Kendall, 24, of 813 18th St., Vienna, was arraigned on charges of domestic battery and child abuse and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Timothy Ray Williams, 46, of 886 Pleasant Hill Road, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of second-offense DUI and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Brandon Robert Harvey, 32, of Belleville, was arraigned on two counts of domestic battery and two counts of domestic assault and released on a $2,000 surety bond.

* Thomas Laquay Eanes, 28, of 1718 ¢ Park St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstructing and disorderly conduct and released on a $1,500 surety bond.

* Sasha Lee Carter, 38, of 109 Elm St., Davisville, was given a six-month deferred sentence for a charge of DUI, while charges of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and defective equipment were dismissed. She was assessed $215.25 in court costs and fines.

* Three counts of animal cruelty were dismissed against Dacoda Thomas Wilson, 24, of 1304 14th St., Parkersburg, because the state didn’t have enough evidence to prosecute.

* William Joseph Mitchell, 34, of 1914 McGill Road, Vincent, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was assessed $185.25 in court costs and fines.

* Dennis Wayne Bailey, 25, of 200 Pell St., Grantsville, pleaded guilty to charges of obstruction and no insurance and was assessed $520.50 in court costs and fines. Charges of improper registration and no operator’s license were dismissed.

* Amanda Mackey, 35, P.O. Box 3208, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and was assessed $160.25 in court costs and fines.

* Robert William Hieden, 25, of 4905 1/2 Second Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of grand larceny and held on a $15,000 surety bond.

* Jason Lee Allman, 32, of 411 Elder St., Apt. 9, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstruction and was assessed $160.25 in court cost and fines.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Nov. 13:

* On Nov. 12, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person on East First Street. The complainant had caught the person underneath a vehicle. The suspect left when the complainant went to retrieve a phone to call the ACSO. Deputies checked the vehicle and found that the catalytic converter had been removed by the suspect. This matter is under investigation.

* On Nov. 12, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to West Third Street on a report of theft that occurred at a residence. A shop vac was removed from the complainant’s porch sometime within a week of the call.

* On Nov. 12, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Marathon in Guysville for a theft report. The victim wanted to report that multiple items of his were stolen by an ex-girlfriend after breaking up earlier in the day. Deputies were able to make contact with the other involved party but did not find any of the property that was alleged stolen. This case was closed pending any further investigative information that may further the case.
