Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court on Feb. 26:

* Morgan Marie Francis, 33, of 4801 Second Ave., Apt. 3, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstructing, failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance, methadone, and held on a $6,000 bond.

* Joshua Michael McGee, 34, of 718 Eighth Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of grand larceny, destruction of property and entry of a building other than a dwelling and held on a $10,500 bond.

* Jesse Carl Hesson, 23, of 3929 11th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of child neglect creating risk of injury, child abuse by parent, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance and held on a $30,000 cash bond.

* Steven E. King, 52, care of 413 Eighth St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of first-offense shoplifting and public intoxication and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Jennifer Diane Miller, 25, of 850 Ridgewood Blvd., Belpre, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense driving under the influence and released on a $500 bond.

* Roy Allen Spellman Jr., 38, of 3606 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of four counts of forgery and uttering, two counts of obtaining a prescription by fraud and one count of identity theft and released on a $50,000 bond.

* Brandon Charles Greiner, 30, of 2811 29th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of fleeing while DUI and released on a $1,000 bond.

* Matthew David Gonzales, 32, of 2305 Millbrook Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver and held on a $5,000 bond.

* Sean Thomas Durnell, 20, of 1515 Rayon Drive, Apt. B, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and released on a $5,000 bond.

* Steven Ray Jenkins, 30, of 2254 16th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of driving too fast for roadway conditions and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Andrew Micah Glaspell, 24, of 908 12th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense shoplifting and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Joshua Paul Posey, 36, of Powell Drive, Apt. 44, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of violation of a protective order and released on a $500 bond.

* Nicholas Fidel Payne, 22, of 1204 20th St., Vienna, was arraigned on a charge of DUI and released on a $500 bond.

* Teresa Irene Hall, 26, of 411 Hill St., Parkersburg, care of 1600 Lockhart Fort Road, Sandyville, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and held on a $1,000 bond.

* Frederick Gale McKitrick Sr., 35, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstructing and violation of a domestic violence protective order and released on a $1,000 bond. Two counts of registration violation and one count of third-offense driving under suspension were dismissed due to the age of the cases.

* Curtis Lee Humphrey Sr., 30, of Mineral Wells, was arraigned on a charge of domestic assault and released on a $300 bond.

* Janice Louise Rexroad, 56, of 1953 E. Seventh St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of obstructing and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

* Glenver Eugene Gandee, 69, of Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of violating a personal safety order and released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.

* Chandra Renea Jenkins, 36, P.O. Box 94, McFarlan, was arraigned on a charge of first-offense shoplifting and released on a $200 bond.

* Ashley Nicole Fulkerson, aka Johnson, 23, of 3929 11th Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and marijuana, with intent to deliver, child neglect by a parent creating risk of injury or death and child abuse by a parent resulting in injury and was held on a $20,000 cash bond.

* Ian Scott Gates, 25, of 1304 Cliffside Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of receiving/transferring stolen goods and released on a $1,500 bond.

* Joseph Byron Cain, 31, of 1315 Staunton Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of burglary, stalking and destruction of property and released on a $5,500 bond.

* Chad Stephen Jasper, 37, of 1617 Pike St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of burglary, obstructing and fleeing on foot and held on an $11,000 bond.

* Samuel Allen Modesitt, 21, of 1809 20th St., Apt. 3, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny and held on a $50,000 bond.

* Susan Samette Hendricks, 44, of 1112 27th St., Vienna, was arraigned on a worthless check charge and released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

* Robert Lee Adams, 33, of 300 Ivy St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of false reporting of an emergency incident and held on a $500 bond.

* Michael Paul Surface, 42, of 1701 Race St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of obstruction and trespassing and released on a $750 bond.

* Kenneth Robert Shuman, 47, of 1316 Lynn St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of public intoxication and obstructing and released on a $400 bond.

* Seth James Davidson, 22, Vienna, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation and was assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Shane M. Modesitt, 44, 3527 Roseland Ave., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and second-offense driving under suspension, was sentenced to six months home confinement on each charge, to be served consecutively, and was assessed $1,160.25 in fines and court costs.

* Shannon Elizabeth Wade, 34, 255 Oak Tree Drive, Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to receiving or transferring stolen property, was sentenced to time served and was assessed $160.25 in court costs.

* Mathew James Morris, 40, 89 Thorn St., Parkersburg, pleaded guilty to destruction of property and attemped to commit an offense, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation on each count and was assessed $525.50 in fines and court costs.

* Nichole Amber Smarr, 34, 467 Vaughn Road, Grantsville, had charges of leaving the scene and driving under suspension dismissed due to failure to appear by a witness.

* Falesha Dingess, 21, 1112 1/2 Hocking Road, Belpre, pleaded guilty to charges of no proof of insurance and furnishing alcohol to a minor, was sentenced to 90 days jail suspended for one year of probation on each count, to be served concurrently

* Joshua Kenneith Murphy, 28, 1247 Little Kanawha Parkway, Elizabeth, pleaded no contest to petit larceny, was sentenced to 30 days jail suspended for one year of probation and was assessed $260.25 in fines, court costs and restitution.

* Cleo Spader, 20, 3008 10th Ave., Vienna, pleaded guilty to passing a school bus and was assessed $210.25 in fines and court costs.

* Bryan Joseph Woollard, 37, 701 Wayside Farm Road, Parkersburg, had charges of hunting without permission and hunting without a license dismissed due to failure to appear by an officer.

* Kyle Turner Lewis West, 28, P.O. Box 1234, Raven, Va., pleaded guilty to obstructing, was sentenced to 30 days jail suspended for one year of probation and was assessed $235.25 in fines and court costs.

* Bradley Joseph Cantwell, 25, 56 Lee Court, Walker, pleaded guilty to no proof of insurance and was assessed $360.25 in fines and court costs.

* Nicole Dawn Weaver, 27, 411A 13th St., Parkersburg, had a charge of possession of a controlled substance dismissed due to the state not providing lab work.

* James D. Stevenson, 45, Washington, N.C., had a domestic battery charge dismissed due to failure to appear by a victim.

* Osten Hartshorn, 25, P.O. Box 144, New Matamoras, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and was assessed $260.25 in fines and court costs.

* Coltin Watson Borthwick, 27, 295 Covington Way, Vienna, pleaded guilty to speeding and was assessed $165.25 in fines and court costs.

* Shane Michael Buchanan, 30, 411 Hill St., Parkersburg, waived a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of third-offense driving under suspension and the case was bound over to Wood County Circuit Court.

Washington Sheriff

MARIETTA — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Feb. 26:

* On Feb. 21, Deputy Metts began an investigation in Watertown Township in reference to items being dumped along the roadway. This case remains under investigation.

* On Feb. 23, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Deputy Schwendeman observed a vehicle parked at the Veto Church of Christ, at State Route 339 and Cross Road. Contact was made with the driver, Cody Wiesman, who advised he was waiting to pick up a friend. Deputy Schwendeman detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about Wiesman’s person, also noting his eyes were glassy and bloodshot. When asked, Wiesman admitted to drinking approximately six beers in the previous hours. Wiesman was asked to turn off the ignition and exit the vehicle to perform standard field sobriety tests, which he did with poor results. Cody Tyler Wiesman, 23, 307 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, was placed under arrest for having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

* On Feb. 25, deputies along with the Reno Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to the scene of an unresponsive female. This case remains under investigation.

The following subjects were recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:

* Tyson Dwayne Cunningham, 31, 714 Ohio Ave., Belpre, having weapons while under disability and possession of drugs, felonies; 60 days County Jail.

* Dylan Lee Riley, 31, 715 Cisler Drive, Marietta, trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs, fifth-degree felonies; 60 days County Jail.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Feb. 26:

* On Feb. 24, the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 50. While on the stop, the odor of marijuana could be smelled. Upon searching the vehicle, marijuana along with several items of paraphernalia were located. These items were seized as evidence.

* On Feb. 24, the Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 50 near Dow Lake dam. While speaking with the driver, he admitted to being in possession of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, along with a loaded firearm that the driver was unauthorized to carry. Both the marijuana and the firearm were seized as evidence. The driver was criminally charged.

* On Feb. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to OH-78 in Buchtel for a well-being check. The check was on a subject that was allegedly having hallucinations. Deputies determined that the subject of the check was having hallucinations and had physical injuries as an indirect result of those issues. The subject was transported to O’Bleness Hospital for a mental health screening.

* On Feb. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a scam from Spreading Oaks on Selby Road. Deputies were advised that an individual contacted the victim and identified themselves as an attorney. The victim was requested to send an amount of money for legal fees. The victim did write two separate checks totaling in $2,000, to the alleged attorney. However, a stop was placed on the checks prior to being cashed. At this time, a report was requested to be filled. No further action.

* On Feb. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office advised of a possible Grand Theft Auto report from a third party. Deputies met with the party, who advised their client had reportedly told persons they had stolen a vehicle and crashed it during the late-night hours. Deputies obtained a written statement from the reported party, and traveled to State Route 691 near Poston Road, and observed the reported vehicle. Deputies obtained photographs of the vehicle, and also spoke with the suspect in the case. The suspect admitted to being angered at a business owner, as he had made a threat to harm the suspect, therefore resulting in the suspect stealing a vehicle from the business. Deputies recovered keys to the vehicle from staff and made contact with the owner of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle wished to pursue charges as well as the business owner, who had an active no trespass complaint on the suspect. All information has been forwarded to the Athens County Prosecutor’s office for Grand Jury.

* On Feb. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Vore Ridge Road for a male there being combative and attempting to start altercations with everyone in the home. The male had active warrants out for his arrest and had fled the residence before deputies’ arrival. Deputies advised the other residents to call back in if the male returned to the residence.

* On Feb. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Vore Ridge Road for a dispute. The caller advised that his uncle was yelling and throwing items inside the residence. Deputies made contact with the male, who had an active warrant out of Athens County. The male was arrested and transported to SEORJ without further incident.

* On Feb. 24, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was requested by Morgan County to attempt contact with a male showing active warrants for his arrest. John Singree, 40, of Chesterhill, was arrested and transported to SEORJ. No further action.

* On Feb. 25, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Lottridge Road for a dispute. The caller advised that his nephew that lives with him attempted to hit him with a metal folding chair. The caller advised that his nephew has mental health issues and was stating that he wanted to kill him and the neighbors. The male was taken to OMH for further evaluation.

* On Feb. 25, 39-year-old, Michael Dishong, of The Plains, was arrested after it was reported he took a welder from Lowe’s in Athens without paying for it. Dishong and the welder were transported to the Athens Police Department who are handling the charge.

* On Feb. 25, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Reynoldsburg, Ohio in reference to a child support warrant. Sam Osborne, 55, of Reynoldsburg, was located and arrested for two active warrants for Child Support. Osborne was transported to the Franklin County Corrections Center without incident.

* On Feb. 25, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of damage done to the rear of a vehicle in the Green Meadows Trailer Park. The owner of the vehicle advised someone had struck his vehicle between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 24. The deputy on scene spoke with the next-door neighbor due to the close proximity of the vehicles. At this time there are no known suspects. Case closed.

* On Feb. 25, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a theft of jewelry and an iPhone from a residence on Churchhouse Road. This case is currently under investigation.

Belpre Police

BELPRE — The Belpre Police Department released the following reports on Feb. 26:

* On Feb. 16, David M. Tewkesbury, 53, 521 Barclay St., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

* On Feb. 20, Nikki L. Worrell, 47, 522 Dean St., Parkersburg, was cited for allowing her dog to run at large.

* On Feb. 20, Natalie R. Bright, 29, 1003 Florence St., Belpre, was cited for disorderly conduct.

* On Feb. 20, Brian C. Barnett, 29, 1007 Florence St., Belpre, was cited for disorderly conduct.

* On Feb. 20, Michael A. Arnold, 31, 1380 County House Lane, Marietta, was cited for a stop sign violation and for having fictitious license plates.

* On Feb. 20, Jordan S. Rowan, 27, 815 Florence St., Belpre, was cited for expired registration.

* On Feb. 21, Kyle L. Rogers, 20, 1607 Hill St., Belpre, was cited for a stop sign violation and for not wearing a seat belt.

* On Feb. 22, Tyson D. Cunningham, 31, 714 Ohio Ave., Belpre, was cited for driving under suspension and for failing to yield the right of way when turning left.

* On Feb. 22, Richard S. Adams-Walraven, 25, 3180 Campground Road, Coolville, was arrested on warrants for failure to appear in Belpre Mayor’s Court. Original charges were driving under suspension, expired registration and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On Feb. 22, Cynthia J. Roush, 21, 601 Barclay St., Belpre, was cited for speeding, 42 mph in a 25 mph zone.

* On Feb. 23, Lois R. Spencer, 71, 1733 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, was cited for speeding, 44 mph in a 25 mph zone.

* On Feb. 23, Brittany A. Burchard, 19, 84 Powell Dr., Parkersburg, was cited for a stop sign violation.

* On Feb. 25, Sandra J. Smith, 67, 301 North St., Caldwell, was cited for speeding, 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

* On Feb. 25, Tracy J. Schofield, 28, 1683 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, was cited for speeding, 41 mph in a 25 mph zone.

* On Feb. 25, Waylon F. McCune, 43, 715 Barclay St., Belpre, was cited for disorderly conduct.
