Wood Magistrate

PARKERSBURG — The following cases appeared in Wood County Magistrate Court on Nov. 27:

* Michael Christopher Smith, 37, 412 Broadway Ave., New Matamoras, was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence and second-offense driving under suspension and released on $2,000 bond.

* Todd Justin Twyman, 36, 4200 First Ave., Vienna, was arraigned on a felony charge of third-offense DUI and released on $8,000 bond.

* Morgan Marie Francis, 32, 4801 Second Ave., Apt. 3, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a felony counterfeiting charge and released on $50,000 bond.

* Elora Delphia Guthrie, 20, 1511 Rayon Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $2,000 bond.

* Ashley Lynn Ohse, 35, 2024 17th St., Apt. 8, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of battery of a police officer, public intoxication, obstructing and discorderly conduct and released on $4,000 bond.

* Brandan James Pearce, 35, 1711 Second St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a public intoxication charge and released on $500 bond.

* Linda Suzanne Stephens, 71, 1709 23rd St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a shoplifting charge and released on $500 bond.

* Gregory C. Stanley, 34, 1728 SR 124, Coolville, was arraigned on a felony charge of third-offense shoplifting and released on $30,000 bond.

* James Preston Kilkenny, 37, 2810 26th St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a felony charge of third-offense driving under suspension and released on $5,000 bond.

* Christopher Michael Heater, 32, 9592 Hazel Green Road, Smithville, W.Va., was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and bond was set at $100,000.

* Trisha Cara Brookover, 36, 610 28th St., Vienna, was arraigned on a permitting DUI charge and released on $2,000 bond.

* Zachary Ray Burdette, 22, 6280 Lost Pavement, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned on a first-offense DUI charge and released on $1,500 bond.

* Shawn Anthony Miller, 33, Parkersburg, was arraigned on charges of domestic battery and destruction of property and bond was set at $4,000.

* Carl R. Naylor II, 24, 1511 Rayon Drive, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and released on $2,000 bond.

* Kasandra Dawn Utt, 29, 9592 Hazel Green Road, Smithville, W.Va., was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and bond was set at $100,000.

* Tiffany R. Carson, 23, 1905 Oak St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on two felony counts of fraud and related activity in connection with an access device and bond was set at $10,000.

* Elizabeth Ann Loscar, 35, Parkersburg, was arraigned on a domestic battery charge and released on $1,500 bond.

* Tommy Wayne Schreckengost, 41, 704 Neal St., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a DUI charge and released on $2,000 bond.

* Deshawn Drese Nelson Jr., 18, 802 Virginia Ave., Parkersburg, was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and bond was set at $15,000.

* Robert Eugene Flinn, 31, 1943 Middle Fork Lee Creek Road, Belleville, was arraigned on a felony charge of grand larceny and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance and bond was set at $32,000.

* Clara M. Elliott, 43, Vienna, was arraigned on a domestic battery charge and released on $2,000 bond.

* Joshua Andrew Jackson, 30, 4292 Butcher Bend Road, Mineral Wells, was arraigned on charges of improper registration, improper motor vehicle inspection and third-offense driving under suspension and released on $500 bond.

Belpre Police

BELPRE — The Belpre Police Department released the following reports Nov. 27:

* On Nov. 20, Joshua G. Stewart, 37, 205 Elm St., Belpre, was cited for driving without a license.

* On Nov. 20, Terry R. Fox, 70, 316 Walnut St., Belpre, was cited for not wearing a seat belt.

* On Nov. 21, Ashley M. Wynn, 27, 280 Summers Road, Marietta, was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule IV drugs.

* On Nov. 22, Josie E. Grogg, 30, 2506 Parkview Drive, Belpre, was cited for having an expired registration.

* On Nov. 25, Jeremiah M. Smith, 37, 84 Lubeck Road, Parkersburg, was cited for possession of marijuana.

* On Nov. 25, Bryan R. Cowger, 44, 3514 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. Cowger was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug abuse instruments and tampering with evidence.

* On Nov. 25, Kaitlyn D. Townsend, 22, 401 Hickory St., Parkersburg, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. Townsend was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On Nov. 25, Timothy N. McKinley, 20, 309 Calder Ridge Road, Belpre, was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On Nov. 25, Justin K. Taylor, 22, homeless, was cited for driving under suspension and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

* On Nov. 25, Conner T. Beavers, 22, 220 Mount Tom Pines Road, Marietta, was arrested for OVI, second offense.

Athens Sheriff

ATHENS, Ohio — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office released the following reports Nov. 27:

* On Nov. 25, the Athens County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop in the Coolville area. During the course of the investigation, in was discovered that the female passenger had hidden narcotics on her person. Criminal charges are pending.

* On Nov. 25, the Athens County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on Frost Road in Coolville. While on the stop, multiple items of contraband were located to include counterfeit currency. This case is currently under investigation.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop On US 33 near Circle 33 Drive. While on the stop, K9 Bora indicated to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, narcotics were located as well as currency. Christopher L Henderson, 32, of Columbus, was placed under arrest for trafficking of a controlled substance, heroin and cocaine as well as tampering with evidence. Henderson was then transported to the South East Ohio Regional Jail.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Criminal Interdiction Unit was dispatched to a dispute in the Plains. Upon arrival, deputies learned that one of the involved parties had multiple warrants for her arrest. Alyssa Parker was placed under arrest and transported to SEORJ without incident.

* On Nov. 22, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to The Plains for a criminal mischief complaint. On scene, deputies met with the complainant who advised they were sleeping when they heard a loud bang outside. When they investigated the noise, they discovered someone had thrown a large rock at their vehicle. The rock had shattered the front windshield. The suspect had fled the scene before being identified. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.

* On Nov. 22, an employee of BFS reported a gas drive off of $70. The truck driven by the suspect was an older rusty brown Ford Ranger with a partial plate of HLC. Cameras are being reviewed to gather additional information.

* On Nov. 22, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office in locating and recovering a stolen vehicle from their county at the Guysville Marathon.

* On Nov. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a criminal damaging by way of a tire being slashed. The complainant advised that she knew of her tire being non-damaged when she was at her residence around 9 p.m. Nov. 22. The complainant wished to have a report on file.

* On Nov. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Family Dollar in Albany in reference to employee finding narcotics on the premises. Upon deputy’s arrival, they seized the narcotics for destruction.

* On Nov. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to the area of Valero in The Plains for a report of a male there who was intoxicated and making threats to other patrons of the store. Contact was made with the male who was identified as Kenny Barnhart, of The Plains. Barnhart had an active warrant for his arrest for disorderly conduct out of Athens and was transported to SEORJ without further incident.

* On Nov. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a theft report on Mush Run Road. The complainant advised that two individuals had stayed at her residence and stole multiple items from her residence two weeks ago. This case is currently under investigation.

* On Nov. 23, a burglary report was taken on Porter Lane in Athens. DNA evidence was collected from dried blood located near the broken door window. This case is under investigation. If anyone has information regarding a burglary that occurred on Porter Lane, call the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number at 740-593-6633.

* On Nov. 23, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a stolen car from the Vore Ridge Road in Athens. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the vehicle owner who advised that it was two of his friends that had stolen the vehicle. The victim advised that at no point in time did he ever give them permission to use nor take the vehicle. The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen and the case is still under investigation.

* On Nov. 24, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Pleasanton Road area in reference to a shooting complaint and it being near the caller’s cattle. Upon arrival, it was determined that cattle were not actively around the gun fire but in a different area of the field, however the rounds were going into the field. Deputies made contact with the subjects shooting and advised them they needed a proper backstop which was not the farmers cattle fields. The subjects advised they would stop shooting for the day. No further actions were needed.

* On Nov. 24, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Jacksonville Road to take a report of damage sustained by a pickup truck when an oncoming truck had some scrap metal sticking too far out to the side striking the oncoming vehicle. A citation was issued for unsecured load and parties separated without further incident.

* On Nov. 24, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Beckler Road in New Marshfield for a report of harassment. The complainant advised she had received multiple text messages from a neighbor inquiring about the lawnmower that was on loan to them. After several vulgar text messages, the complainant asked the involved party to stop texting. Multiple text messages were sent after that and the complainant asked for intervention to stop the contact. Deputies made contact with the involved party and informed them that further contact would result in criminal charges. This case was closed.

* On Nov. 24, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Troy Township building on a report of a window that was broken sometime overnight. A report was taken.

* On Nov. 25, a report of a fight on Monroe Street in Chauncey was received. Several family members were involved in an altercation, which involved several items being thrown at involved persons and varying accounts of thrown punches and shoving. Ultimately, unable to determine a primary physical aggressor, parties voluntarily separated, and no charges were requested. No further action needed.

* On Nov. 25, a female residing on Thelma Road reported that she is being harassed by a friend of the family. Several phone calls and voice mails have been sent to her phone as well as several unannounced visits and gifts from the male. This matter remains under investigation.

* On Nov. 25, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called to Depot Street in New Marshfield for a criminal damaging report. The caller stated that while driving down the street, she observed two males fighting in the roadway. When she stopped her vehicle one of the males hit her vehicle window with a shovel, causing the window to shatter. This case is still under further investigation.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a criminal damaging report from the Rock Run Road area in reference to a mailbox being damaged. The complainant advised they wanted to have it on file due to it being the fourth time it has happened.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a second report of a mailbox being damaged on Rock Run Road. The caller advised that he was leaving for church this morning and saw where the mailbox had been completely destroyed. The complainant wanted to have a report on file.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office spoke with an employee from Havar Inc. in reference to a client’s money being stolen. At this time, the company is only wishing to log this information for future use. No further action.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a theft of a wallet and credit card from a residence in Jacksonville. Athens PD is also working this case due to the credit card being used inside the city limits.

* On Nov. 26, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Trimble Township in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, the male half had left area. Contact was made with the female half who advised the details of the situation. The female caller was advised to contact Glouster PD to request a trespass complaint and to contact Victim / Witness Advocate at ACSO to inquire about obtaining a protection order. No further action taken. Return to patrol.
