Wood County court hears three cases

PARKERSBURG — Two sentencings and a home confinement release were heard in Wood County Circuit Court Wednesday.

* Amanda R. Wilson, 29, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was sentenced after her guilty plea to a charge of escape as charged by the January 2016 grand jury. Judge Robert Waters sentenced her to one year in the regional jail with credit for 34 days served to run concurrently to an additional charge from 2012.

* Preston Scott Harris, 23, 309 Mineral Manor Way, Parkersburg, was sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Reed after he successfully completed the program in the Anthony Center. He was sentenced to one to 10 years in prison with credit for 512 days served for breaking and entering from a 2014 indictment and one year in prison for escape from custody as charged in a 2016 indictment, suspended for three years probation with 100 hours of community service.

* Robert Larry Hornton Jr., 41, 396 Mitchell Lane, Washington, W.Va., was granted a motion by Reed to allow him to be released from home confinement. He is to pay his debt of $6,083 in home confinement fees at $25 per month. He was placed on parole for two years and will be released when he pays the debt.
