Service academy programs slated

WASHINGTON — Four programs for West Virginia students interested in an appointment to a United States military academy will be held beginning Saturday.

The schedule for the 2019 Fall Academy Days sponsored by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and Rep. David McKinley is:

* Eastern Panhandle: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jefferson High School, 4141 Flowing Springs Road, Shenandoah Junction.

* Southern West Virginia: 2 p.m. Sunday, Pikeview High School, 3566 Eads Mill Road, Princeton.

* Charleston Area: 2 p.m. Sept. 28, South Charleston High School, 1 Eagle Way, South Charleston.

* Northern West Virginia: 2 p.m. Sept. 29, Bridgeport High School, 515 Johnson Ave., Bridgeport.

Representatives from service academy admissions will be available to answer questions and have information about local ROTC scholarship programs. A representative from the Department of Defense’s Medical Examination Review Board will attend the program on Saturday.
