Wood BOE meets tonight

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Board of Education meets tonight to approve personnel changes and a meeting schedule for the 2019-20 school year.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the district’s 13th and Plum streets offices. The meeting is open to the public.

Superintendent Will Hosaflook said the main items being considered tonight will be personnel changes, including retirements, transfers, new hires and extra duty assignments. Students return to class Aug. 15.

The board also will be asked to approve a schedule of meetings for the coming school year. The board traditionally meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, but holidays and other scheduling issues can shift those dates.

The board will approve renewing its contract with law firm Bowles Rice, renew several memos of understanding for the coming school year, and approve insurance policies.
