Tony Caridi event to benefit Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg

PARKERSBURG — Tony Caridi, known as the Voice of the West Virginia University Mountaineers, will be bringing his “Inside the Huddle” to the Parkersburg Country Club to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg.

Inside the Huddle, where Caridi discusses WVU football and basketball, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Parkersburg Country Club.

Individual tickets will cost $75 and table sponsorships start at $1,000.

The Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg said this event will appeal to any WVU fan. The theme will be a tailgate party with a tailgate type menu.

The Boys and Girls Club of Parkersburg offers a safe and educational place for children in this area to spend time after school and during the summer, officials said.

The club offers robotics, tutoring, photography, swimming and summer golf. The club has a computer lab and a STEM lab.

Caridi went to work for the Mountaineer Sports Network in 1987. Caridi replaced the legendary Jack Fleming, who also was the Voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers, in 1997 as the Voice of the Mountaineers.
