MARIETTA — Washington-Morgan Community Action is accepting applications for the Head Start program for 2019-2020.

Head Start is a free federally funded preschool and development program that focuses on education, nutrition, health, and social development of young children. Children who enroll in Head Start receive instruction in social, emotional, math, science, language, reading and writing skills to develop self-confidence, independence and social competence.

Head Start offers 7-hour, 6-hour and half-day sessions in Malta, Marietta, Belpre and New Matamoras. Head Start services may also be provided in homes through the Home Base program. Home Base services are provided through a weekly visit that last 90 minutes.
