West Virginia DOH accepting comments on roads program
Workshop set for Tuesday in Parkersburg
CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Department of Transportation is accepting comments on its 2020-2025 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
The program is a federally required document that provides the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration a listing of all projects that are candidates for federal aid or regionally significant projects that are not using federal aid.
The capital improvement plan is fiscally constrained and covers a six-year period. Federal agencies are mainly concerned with the first four years of this document and the final two years are for informational purposes.
Presently, the program is updated each year and runs on a federal fiscal year Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
The Transportation Department will hold eight workshops around the state for residents to comment on the draft plan. Workshops will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the following locations and dates:
A workshop will be held Tuesday in Parkersburg City Council chambers. Others are Monday in Martinsburg and Wheeling, Tuesday in Morgantown, Thursday in Huntington and Beckley and April 8 in Charleston and Logan.
A draft is available online at https://transportation.wv.gov/highways/programplanning/comment/draftstip/Pages/default.aspx.
