Two-hour delays announced in schools

Schools in Doddridge, Pleasants, Ritchie and Tyler counties, Meigs Local, Marietta City, Belpre City, Warren Local, Fort Frye Local and Wolf Creek Local have been put on a two-hour delay Monday morning because of the weather.

WVU Parkersburg will operate under a 2-hour delay. Operational hours will begin at 10 a.m.

Washington State Community College is on a 2-hour delay. Offices will open at 9:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a winter weather advisory in effect for 7 a.m. Monday through Tuesday night that said roads may become slick in some areas.

Wood, Jackson and Meigs counties also remain under a flood warning. The Ohio River has crested at Belleville, but additional rain expected across the Ohio Basin may cause the river at the Belleville Locks to again rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning, the weather service said.
