Strike to continue Wednesday
PARKERSBURG – West Virginia school teachers and service personnel will not return to the classroom Wednesday.
School employees statewide took to the picket lines today for a statewide strike in protest of a state Senate education omnibus bill which educators say would be detrimental to West Virginia public schools.
Senate Bill 451 was tabled indefinitely by the House of Delegates, but concerns remain the bill could be brought back Wednesday. State union officials announced tonight the strike would continue through today until there was evidence the bill would not be brought back.
