WAVERLY — Waverly Elementary School welcomed two-dozen veterans Thursday as part of the school’s Veterans Celebration. The 24 veterans in attendance hailed from all branches of the military and eras of service.

Schools and communities throughout the area are recognizing veterans this week in honor of Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day, which is this Sunday.
