Monroe, Morgan, Noble decide levies, commission seats and auditor race

Three neighboring counties decided on the path of their futures on Tuesday. Morgan, Monroe and Noble county voters cast their ballots for 17 village or township levies, five county wide levies, three county commissioner seats and a county auditor.

Monroe County final, unofficial results:

¯County Commissioner: Mick Schumacher, Republican incumbent defeated Ron Taylor, Democrat, 3,337 votes (63 percent), to 1,993 votes (37 percent).

¯County Auditor: Pandora Neuhart, Democrat, defeated challenger Vallerie Sefert, Republican, 3,112 votes (59 percent), to 2,161 votes (41 percent).

¯County-wide, 0.5-mill, five-year levy supporting county EMS passed, 2,968 votes (56 percent) to 2,345 votes (44 percent).

¯Beallsville Village renewal of five-year, 8.5-mill operating levy passed, 72 votes (73 percent) to 27 votes (27 percent).

¯Salem Township and Clarington Village five-year, 1-mill additional levy for fire department passed, 223 votes (66 percent) to 114 votes (34 percent).

¯Salem Township five-year, 1-mill levy for cemetery maintenance passed, 145 votes (65 percent) to 79 votes (35 percent) .

¯Clarington Village five-year, 3-mill levy for general expenses, a tie, 56 votes for and against it.

Noble County final, unofficial results:

¯County Commissioner: Brad Peoples, Independent, defeated two other candidates, Oran Way, Republican, and Jeffery Minosky, Democrat, 1,887 (40 percent) to 1,803 (38 percent) and 1,068 votes (22 percent) respectively.

¯County-wide, 1-mill, 10-year replacement levy for the county health department passed, 3,094 votes (66 percent) to 1,578 (34 percent).

¯Belle Valley Village 6-mill, five-year renewal levy in support of operating expenses passed, 62 votes (85 percent) to 17 votes (15 percent).

Morgan County final, unofficial results:

¯County Commissioner: Tom Bragg, Republican, defeated Paul Carlos Keys, Democrat and Kathleen Montgomery, Independent, 2,064 votes (41 percent) to 1,709 votes (34 percent) and 1,306 votes (25 percent).

¯County-wide 1.28-mill, five-year renewal levy for the board of developmental disabilities passed, 3,366 votes (68 percent) to 1,611 votes (32 percent).

¯County wide 0.8-mill, five-year renewal levy for OSU extension office passed, 3,375 votes (68 percent) to 1,620 votes (32 percent).

¯County wide 0.5-mill, five-year renewal for children services department passed, 3,484 votes (70 percent) to 1,514 votes (30 percent).

¯Bristol Township 1-mill, five-year renewal of cemetery levy passed, 65 votes (76 percent) to 21 votes (24 percent).

¯Marion township to include Chesterhill 2-mill, five-year renewal for cemetery passed, 253 votes (67 percent) to 122 votes (33 percent).

¯Deerfield Township, cemetery levy renewal, 0.25 mills for five years passed, 223 votes (71 percent) to 90 votes (29 percent).

¯Deerfield Township, fire levy renewal, 0.4 mills for three years passed, 242 votes (77 percent) to 71 votes (23 percent).

¯Malta Village, street levy renewal, 1 mill for five years passed, 173 votes (73 percent) to 52 votes (27 percent).

¯McConnelsville Village, cemetery levy additional, 1.5 mills for five years passed, 347 votes (63 percent) to 208 votes (37 percent).

¯Meigsville Township, recreation levy renewal, 1 mill for five years passed, 284 votes (73 percent) to 106 votes (27 percent).

¯Stockport Village, fire levy renewal, 1 mill for five years passed, 146 votes (83 percent) to 30 votes (17 percent).

¯Stockport Village, operating levy renewal, 3 mills for five years passed, 122 votes (70 percent) to 53 votes (30 percent).
