Police conduct city-wide drug raid, 30 arrested
PARKERSBURG – Federal, state and local law enforcement authorities say a city-wide drug raid this morning resulted in multiple arrests and seized drugs.
During a noon press conference at the Parkersburg Municipal Building, officials announced the arrest of “at least 30 suspects,” both locally and in other states, seizure of 150 pounds of methamphetamine and “tens of thousands of dollars” from a multi-state drug trafficking operation. Officials said it is the largest drug seizure in West Virginia and Ohio history.
Officials said the operation, dubbed “Project Parkersburg,” has been ongoing and authorities are still in the process of making arrests.
