Wood BOE meets tonight
Construction, employee termination on agenda
PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Board of Education meets this evening in regular session to receive an update on construction projects and vote on an employee termination.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the board’s 13th and Plum streets offices in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public.
Superintendent Will Hosaflook said while there are no scheduled presentations for tonight’s meeting, he will give an update on construction projects as part of the Superintendent’s Report.
Hosaflook said roofing projects at area schools have been completed, and soil remediation at the site of the new Williamstown Elementary School also is finished.
The board also will vote on the suspension and termination of an unnamed employee. Hosaflook last week suspended Justin Ray Hoover, a custodian at Vienna Elementary School.
Hoover was arrested and charged with “distributing and exhibiting material of minors in explicitly sexual conduct” after officials found he had allegedly searched for images using a school computer.
