MARIETTA — A class on building a small solar generator will be held 1-5 p.m. Saturday in the social hall of the Unitarian Universalist Church, Third and Putnam streets.

The workshop is sponsored by the Green Sanctuary Committee of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta with Blue Rock Station and will be taught by Jay Warmke of Blue Rock Station.

Participants will learn how to make a solar generator that can be used to run a furnace fan and thermostat, a refrigerator or freezer, lights, a computer, a television or other appliances during an extended outage or for camping including at sites that prohibit other generators because of noise.
