VIENNA — Vienna Elementary School’s custodian was arrested Tuesday on a child pornography charge after he allegedly used a school computer to search the internet for pictures of children’s genitalia over the last 12 months, officials said.

Justin Ray Hoover, 36, 2840 Middle Fork Lee Road, Washington, W.Va., was arraigned Tuesday in Wood County Magistrate Court on a charge of distributing and exhibiting material of minors in explicitly sexual conduct.

According to court documents, the school found over 200 internet images of children, both male and female, between the ages of 7 and 8 and older on a computer in the custodians office at the school.

Vienna Police Chief Mike Pifer said Tuesday the investigation is still ongoing, but there is no evidence that harm came to any of the children of Vienna.

“Further charges could be added though as the investigation continues,” said Pifer.

“I am thankful for Principal Doug Jones’ swift action in this matter,” Wood County Schools Superintendent William Hosaflook said Tuesday.

“Don Brown, the Wood County coordinator of safety, and I were alerted about the situation last Thursday,” said Hosaflook.

“We immediately alerted the police who began conducting their investigation,” he said.

Hoover was being held on $75,000 surety bond imposed by Magistrate Robin Waters and was remanded to the North Central Regional Jail following his arraignment.
