SISTERSVILLE — EQT has donated school supplies to Tyler Consolidated High School and Middle School.

The company recently held its annual picnic, a charitable event for schools, in which attendees donated either money or school supplies. EQT used the money to purchase additional school supplies.

Supplies were split between a school in Pennsylvania and Tyler Consolidated. Since Tyler Consolidated middle and high schools were not recipients of the Tyler County Family Resource Network’s back-to-school fair, EQT decided to donate in another fashion.

Tyler County was the only county in the state to receive these extra donations, Katrina Byers, president of the Family Resource Network, said.

“EQT has been very generous to the FRN and Tyler County,” Byers said.

EQT, based in Pittsburgh, is a natural gas and oil exploration company.
