Williamstown park to host meet and greet with political candidates

WILLIAMSTOWN — Janice Fenton and Jan Pickering of Williamstown will host a candidates reception 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tomlinson Park on Highland Avenue in Williamstown.

Candidates scheduled for the meet and greet are Kendra Fershee, Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in the 1st Congressional District; Jim Leach, Democratic candidate for the West Virginia Senate District 3; David Bland, Democratic candidate for District 8 West Virginia House of Delegates, and Charlie Meyers, Democratic candidate for Wood County Commission.

In addition to the candidates, a representative from the Wood County Clerk’s Office will be present for voter education and registration. To register to vote, bring a valid West Virginia driver’s license or state-issued ID with the correct address.

The social is free and open to the public. Pizza and ice cream will be served.
