Wood County Circuit Court hears four cases
PARKERSBURG — Four hearings took place Wednesday in Wood County Circuit Court:
* Meghan Dorset, 29, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She entered a plea of not guilty and her trial was set by Judge Robert Waters. She is in custody in lieu of a $50,000 surety bond.
* William L. Dennis, 42, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was set for a new trial date. Waters set the new date for Aug. 28. The court was informed a plea agreement has been offered.
* Christopher Shane Whited, 36, 2900 27th St., Parkersburg, was granted a motion by Waters to modify the terms of his supervised release. He was convicted of child abuse and placed on 20 years supervised release. He has served five years of the release.
* Jonathan Addis Cooper, 24, 3514 1/2 Camden Ave., Parkersburg, was granted a motion by Waters to amend his supervised release to allow him to have contact with his niece and nephews but not to be alone with them.
