Parkersburg man charged with drug trafficking

PARKERSBURG — A Parkersburg man was charged with drug trafficking Tuesday after Wood County Home Confinement and the Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force searched his residence, Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens said.

Agents, while searching the residence at 511 Maple St., Parkersburg, discovered suspected methamphetamine in three bags and found a digital scale, Stephens said. Jeffrey Lee Jackson Jr., 32, of the same address, also had a bag of suspected methamphetamine on his person, the sheriff said.

The total amount of methamphetamine seized was about 90 grams, Stephens said.

Jackson was arrested on a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was arraigned before Wood County Magistrate Brenda Marshall, who set bond at $15,000. An outstanding warrant for a similar charge also was served on Jackson, Stephens said.

Bond on the warrant also was set at $15,000, Stephens said. Jackson was incarcerated at the North Central Regional Jail in lieu of bond.
