Parkersburg Mayor Tom Joyce said “the class approached the city about the cleanup; we didn’t have to approach them. We’re always looking for groups to help with cleaning the parks. Whether it be Southwood Park or City Park, all they have to do is contact the city at 304-424-8572 and we’ll make sure the group is properly equipped with tools, trash bags, gloves. Whatever they need, we will get them.”

The class, which had about 20 participants, cleaned up and picked up around City Park. Parkersburg Mayor Tom Joyce said “the group had rescheduled earlier and inclement weather canceled that cleanup day. With the city trying to clean up Point Park to reopen it, and that’s a heavy labor, intensive task, having the Parkersburg High students help with mulching and cleanup is a great big help to our crews.”
