Wood County grand jury session indicts 24

PARKERSBURG — Two people charged with the December 2017 murder of a Parkersburg woman were among those indicted in a special session of the grand jury Wednesday, said Wood County Prosecutor Patrick Lefebure.

Jessica Nicole Roberts, 25, and Kenneth LeRoy McCoy Jr., 33, both in custody at the North Central Regional Jail were charged with the murder of Penni Curtis of Parkersburg.

They fled the scene in Curtiss’ silver van and were apprehended in Flora, Ill., seven days later, according to police.

In addition to murder they were charged with conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy to commit grand larceny. Roberts was also charged with fraudulent use of an access device.

Other indictments handed down were:

* Billy Joe Ball Jr., 34, 909 Left Fork of Kites Run Road, Walker, was indicted on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and keeping or maintaining a vehicle for the keeping of controlled substances.

* Jeremy Cheeseman, 30, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was indicted on charges of second-degree robbery and bank robbery.

* Eddie L. Cunningham 32, 1610 19th St., Parkersburg, was indicted on charges of driving while in an impaired state causing death, negligent homicide and third-offense driving on a suspended or revoked license.

* Clinton E. Diveley, 37, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, and Damaris L. Heft, 37, 62 Pineview Road, Waverly, were named as co-defendants in an indictment. Diveley was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, six counts of sexual abuse by a custodian, four counts of second-degree sexual assault and three counts of child neglect creating risk of injury. Heft was charged with sexual abuse by a parent and four counts of child neglect creating risk of injury.

* James Lee Early, 36, 38 Township Road, Proctorville, Ohio, and Kaydee Lynn Hall, 28, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, were co-defendants in an indictment charging them with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy to delivery of a controlled substance and one count of keeping or maintaining a dwelling for the keeping of controlled substances.

* Olin M. Gaskins, 41, in custody at the Eastern Regional Jail, was indicted on two counts of second-offense possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and five counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

* Jason Matthew Lewis, 46, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

* Tara M. O’Neal, 32, 133 Lynn Drive, Williamstown, was indicted on a charge of negligent homicide.

* Raven Ong, 20, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, and Brandon Miller, 36, 604 Seventh Ave., Parkersburg, were named as co-defendants charging them with receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle and conspiracy to commit receiving or transferring a stolen vehicle.

* David Jason Rickard, 41, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, was indicted on a charge of fleeing from an officer with reckless disregard.

* Jessica Renea Thomas, 36; John Michael Decker, 42, and R.B. William Grinter, 37, all in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, were named as co-defendants on charges of two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, three counts of burglary and one count of presentation of a firearm during the presentation of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

* Taveion Thompson, 19, 733 Store Ave., Akron, Ohio, and Marcus McCallister, 20, 984 Mount Vernon Odem Blvd., Akron, Ohio, were charged with transportation of a controlled substance into the state, conspiracy to commit transportation of a controlled substance into the state, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

* Adam S. Townsend, 38, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, and Shailyn N. Prall, 20, 611 Reed St., Parkersburg were named as co-defendants. Townsend was charged with two counts of second-offense possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit transportation of a controlled substance into the state, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Prall was charged with two counts each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance and keeping or maintaining a dwelling for the keeping of controlled substances.

* Elzie Leo Williams II, 30, in custody at the North Central Regional Jail, and Krysti Lee Johnson, 27, 1591 Elizabeth St., Belpre, were named as co-defendants on two counts of child neglect creating the risk of injury. Williams was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
