Wood County students to make up snow days

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Board of Education this week approved changes to the 2017-18 school calendar to make up days lost to bad weather.

The board unanimously voted to convert five Outside School Environment, or OS days, into regular school days. Students will now attend school Monday (Feb. 19), Feb. 26, March 19, April 9 and April 16.

Six OS days were built into the school calendar to make up for days lost to inclement weather. Snow and ice caused schools to close five days in January. Any days missed past the six OS days will be added to the end of the school year.
