Highmark Foundation seeks grant applications
Area schools are eligible
PARKERSBURG — Highmark Foundation is accepting applications for its School Grants and Awards Program to create healthier school environments that experience positive, sustainable and lasting change through comprehensive strategies.
All public, private, vocational high school, parochial and charter schools in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, except in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, are eligible to apply.
Schools may apply for a school grant in one of four areas: Bullying Prevention, Child Injury Prevention, Environmental Health or Healthy Eating and Physical Activity.
Pennsylvania schools are eligible for up to $7,500 and West Virginia schools up to $5,000.
In its sixth year, the program has provided more than $1.8 million to schools in communities served by Highmark Inc. in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
